♥️🐴 Just in case you needed to hear this♥️🐴
Professionals will tell you that you need to ride for hours a day, multiple days a week, with intense training sessions, specific goals, and constant progress. And while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, the reality is that life gets busy.
I do this for a living, and even I struggle to find the time to ride as much as I’d like. Between work, responsibilities, and everyday life, sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day.
So let me remind you of something…
30 minutes in the saddle twice a week is better than nothing at all. ❤️
Sometimes, that little bit of time is exactly what we need to clear our heads, lower our stress, reconnect with our animals, and remember why we fell in love with horses in the first place.
You don’t have to be working on collection, perfecting your transitions, training for a competition, or checking off some long list of goals every time you ride.
Sometimes, it’s perfectly okay to saddle up, hop on your horse, and take three or four slow laps around your property just because you can. No agenda. No pressure. No expectations. Just you and your horse enjoying each other’s company. 🐎
You don’t need a fancy horse.
You don’t need an expensive saddle.
You don’t need to be an incredible rider.
And you certainly don’t need to prove anything to anyone.
Being a good horseman isn’t just about how well you ride. It’s about the relationship you build, the care you give, and the love you have for these incredible animals.
If all you have time for this week is a 30-minute walk around your property, then get out there and enjoy every single minute of it.
Don’t let the pressure to do more steal the joy of doing what you love. ❤️
Because at the end of the day, we didn’t get into horses just to work harder. We got into horses because they make our lives better.
And sometimes, simply sitting in the saddle and breathing in that moment is more than enough.
Today, my husband and I took longer tacking up and laughing together than we did actually in the saddle, and that is OK 👌🏽

So ride your horse. Enjoy your horse. Love your horse. And stop feeling guilty for not doing more. ❤️🐴
