Remember the 1800s Victorian that had been split into four apartments? Here’s how a few of the rooms looked before we turned it back into one home, and how they look now. The under-stair w**e room still gets us every time.

Big congratulations to our building designer, Jorge Arreola, who took first place in Chief Architect’s design contest for this primary bathroom!

It was part of a whole house remodel and addition, and Jorge designed every detail in 3D, from the green cabinetry to the brass fixtures, so the homeowners could see their new bath long before construction started.

We’re so proud to have him on our team, and we hope you’ll join us in cheering him on.

When the owners of this 1800s home first walked through it, they were walking through four separate apartments, each with its own kitchen, bedroom, and bath. What they wanted was one house where visiting family and friends could all stay together, with guest rooms that felt as comfortable as a primary suite.

We took out the apartment that sat right where the family kitchen needed to go, rebuilt the second floor into four bedrooms with their own en-suite baths, and designed the new primary bath around a front window we weren't allowed to move, which is how the freestanding tub ended up with the best view in the house. Along the way our crew found a set of massive original pocket doors hidden in the walls, and they open and close beautifully again today.

Javi spent years in the trade before he ever ran a job site. Ask anyone who's tried to tell him something 'can't be done,' he's heard that line before and usually already knows why it can be done. Will learned to build by watching his grandfather work, and it means he tends to catch a problem with your house before it becomes one.
