AEMBR Clean luxury goods with zero carcinogens, phthalates or parabens. Candles, laundry, room sprays…

Seven notes. Start with the one that was hanging from the ceiling.

Peppercorn, coriander, sage, moss, patchouli, chamomile, balsam. The back room of an old apothecary, where the herbs hang to dry.

Quiet and a little secretive. A limited edition for the last night of October.

Apotek, made in Houston.

One question about your house picks your winter candle.

Juletid for the room full of people. Berry + Embers for the snow-day, movie-night room. Pick the room first, then the candle.

Three winter scents, made in Houston.

Covid almost ended AEMBR, and the part I got wrong wasn't the candle.
A customer wrote in that she couldn't smell anything in her candles. I was sure I'd made a mistake. I hadn't: I made every batch by hand and we QA'd every candle. I replaced hers anyway.
Four years and 25,000+ orders later, I'm done second-guessing myself. Follow along for the next four.

This year we made a mistake you could see. We redesigned the AEMBR site, chased the trend, and it started to look like every other brand online. So we went back to our roots: the green we launched with in 2022, the launch gold, and one test for anything new. Is it real? The paper is a real sheet, scanned at the studio. The handwriting is Kristina's, not a font. See the new look on the site or in the app, and try the room simulator to shop by room. Link in bio.

Four years ago I'd never made a candle. I was an anesthesiologist, and my whole job was knowing exactly what reaches the body.

Then I turned a candle around and found one word: fragrance. Some of what that word could hold was phthalates.

So I started making my own. I got help from experts in the industry and was flabbergasted to learn how much science and safety goes into one candle. (Good thing, eh?)

Candles first, then laundry powder and room sprays, all with certified phthalate-free fragrance. Made in Houston.

My first launch had a 1,000-person waitlist and sold out in 90 seconds. The second sold out in 60. For a full year I couldn't keep anything in stock.

Four years and 25,000+ orders later, I'm still formulating.

It started with something innocent. A candle on a quiet evening. A baby’s laundry, folded with care.

Turn either one around and you’ll find one word: fragrance.

As an anesthesiologist, I spent my days knowing exactly what reaches the body. So I started asking what that one word could hold, and some of the answers were phthalates.

I couldn’t unsee it. So I started making my own: candles, laundry powder and room sprays, all with certified phthalate-free fragrance.

Four years and 25,000+ orders later, I’m still formulating.

Six notes. Sweet at the start, smoke at the end.
Plum, saffron, cinnamon, fir, smoked wood, incense. Like the last hour of a fire, when the room still smells like dessert.
Count them on the first pass. On the second, they move faster than you can.
Berry + Embers, made in Houston.

Open the curtains. One thing in this window isn't paper.

Christmas spice, cinnamon, clove, pine, woodsmoke, warm vanilla.

Wait for the one thing on these stones that isn't paper.

Sea salt, blonde woods, sage. A quiet morning by the water.
