One of the first things I look at when I walk a property in Pasco County is how close a mature tree sits to your roofline. We all love our big Florida trees. But our sandy soil can only hold so much water before those roots start to lose their grip.

If that root plate is lifting after a heavy rain, then we need to talk about safety before the next storm hits. Sometimes a professional thinning is the cure. We can trim a canopy to let the wind blow right through it. But if the tree is hazardous, taking it down is the safest move for your family.

That is why Morris Tree Services uses cranes for complex jobs. We can lift heavy sections safely out of your yard. We protect your home from the massive splits and falling trunks that cause structural damage to decking and shingles. We operate with Christian faith and integrity to do what is right for you and your land.

Take a slow walk around your yard today. Look for leaning trunks or dead widow-makers hung up high. If you are unsure about what you see, I am happy to come by and take an honest look.

After a heavy storm hits Hernando County, the real cost of a damaged tree comes down to safety.

I always tell folks in Spring Hill and Brooksville to take a slow walk around their yard once the wind dies down. Look closely at the base of your trees. Are you seeing uprooted trees with exposed root balls? What about split trunks? Here in Florida, our sandy soil can only hold so much water before a mature tree starts to lose its grip. If that root plate is moving, we have to talk about safety.

Homeowners often ask what a removal costs. I will tell you the truth just like I would tell my own family: the most expensive tree is the one that comes down on its own. We have seen fallen trees crush metal roofs, tear up black shingles, and shatter sliding glass patio doors. That is a nightmare you can avoid with the right preparation.

If you are worried about a leaning tree or storm damage, let us take a look. No pressure and no scare tactics. Morris Tree Services is fully licensed and insured to handle hazardous removals safely. When a tree has to go, my team uses the proper safety harnesses, helmets, and lifting straps because we respect your property and take our responsibility seriously.

A live oak draped in Spanish moss over your driveway is a beautiful Florida sight. But a canopy that thick catches a lot of wind.

Here in Pasco and Hernando counties, our shifting weather tests every branch. When a tree gets too dense, it acts like a sail. The wind pushes hard against the canopy instead of blowing safely through it. That puts dangerous stress on the trunk and the roots buried in our sandy soil.

If you wait too long between trims, a heavy storm can uproot the whole tree. If we thin out that canopy load now, we can save the tree and protect your home.

Take a slow walk down your driveway this week. Look up at those heavy limbs. If you see branches sagging low or crossing over each other, it is time for a professional trim. Our arborists use climbing harnesses and proper safety gear to do the job right. We operate with integrity to keep your property safe and your trees standing strong.

Let us take an honest look at your trees. Schedule A Consultation today.

A green tree is not always a safe tree.

I tell folks in Pasco and Hernando to take a slow walk around their yard after a heavy Florida downpour. Look closely at the ground. Our sandy soil can only hold so much water.

Keep an eye out for tall palm trees leaning precariously. Look for large tree limbs located in high canopies near wooden utility poles and power lines. I have seen what happens when these warning signs are ignored. Tree failure can cause shattered wood decking, torn shingles, and crushed rooflines.

If you see a slight heave in the dirt near the trunk, that mature oak might be losing its grip. If that root plate is moving, we have to talk about safety. Sometimes a professional thinning is the cure. Sometimes the safest move for your roof is taking the tree down entirely.

Walk your property this weekend. Look for those danger signs. If you are unsure about what you see, reach out. We are here to give you an honest look with no scare tactics.

The storm has passed, but the danger might not be over. Take a slow walk around your yard before you start cleaning up.

Look closely at the ground near the flare of the trunk on your large oaks and pines. If you see an exposed root ball or a slight heave in the dirt, that tree has lost its grip. That is a sign of severe instability. You need to stay clear.

Every property is different. A few leafy branches fallen on the lawn usually just means you need a routine cleanup. But if you spot a massive split in a trunk, a tree leaning precariously, or branches near sagging power lines, you have a critical safety risk. If a fallen tree is blocking your driveway, that requires immediate clearing.

I have spent my life watching how our trees react to Florida weather. Just because a tree looks green from the street does not mean it is structurally sound underneath. Before I ever recommend removing a tree, I want to see if we can save it. If the trunk is solid, sometimes a professional thinning is all it needs. But if that root plate is moving, the safest move for your roof is taking it down.

Call us at (727) 326-4337 to schedule an assessment. We will give you an honest look at what is going on and do right by your property.

The morning after a heavy Florida storm, take a slow walk around your yard.

It is easy to get distracted by the palm fronds and scattered branches covering the street. I want you to look closer at the base of your larger trees. Look right around the flare of the trunk. Here in our sandy soil, a mature oak can only hold so much water and wind. If you see a slight heave in the dirt or lifted roots on a leaning tree, that root plate is moving and the tree has lost its grip.

Next, look up high for widow-makers. These are the dead or broken limbs hung up in the canopy that you did not notice during the rain. If you see massive splits in a tree trunk or branches leaning precariously toward your roof, then you have a serious structural issue.

My father taught me that a tree service is only as good as the trees it leaves standing. We will always try to save a tree if we can lighten the canopy load through professional trimming. However, if a tree is uprooted or structurally compromised, we have to talk about safety. Our crews are working across Pasco, Hernando, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Citrus County to handle these exact hazards. We use cranes for the complex jobs to ensure we protect your property while we work.

If you are unsure about what is going on in your yard, I am happy to come by and take a look. No pressure and no scare tactics. We are guided by integrity and a commitment to doing what is right for your family.

Florida's dry season is the absolute best time to trim your trees.

Take a look at the long shadows on the grass on these cool mornings. The soft winter morning light reveals a lot about the structure of your oaks. When the weather cools down in Pasco and Hernando, our trees slow their growth. That makes right now the safest time to lighten the canopy load.

I always tell folks to take a slow walk around their yard this time of year. Look up at the union of those branches. Without the heavy summer rain weighing them down, we can easily spot the weak points. We want the wind to blow through your canopy, not push against it.

If you wait until the summer storms to check your trees, you are already too late. If you see limbs crossing or hanging too heavy over your roof, then it is time for a professional thinning. A good trim is often the cure to keep a tree healthy and your home safe.

At Morris Tree Services, we are here to do what is right for you and your property. Call us at 727-326-4337 to get your free estimate now.

Driving up past County Line Road into Hernando always reminds me how quickly the weather turns on us here on the Gulf Coast.

One minute the sky is clear, and the next an afternoon squall has pushed an old oak right toward your garage.

I know firsthand how stressful hurricane season is when you have a massive tree leaning over your property. It is enough to keep you awake at night just listening to the wind.

Sometimes these big oaks just need a little breathing room so the storms blow right through without taking down a branch. Other times, the safest bet is taking them down before they decide to fall on their own schedule.

If you have a tree that is making you nervous after the last storm, call me at (727) 326-4337. I will gladly swing by to take a look and give you my honest thoughts.
