Root Pouch Transforming the horticulture industry and other growing spaces around the world. At Root Pouch, we were practically born with dirt under our fingernails.

We spent many long and happy years in the horticulture industry, working with nurseries, growers and retail giants such as Home Depot. And when you are passionate about gardening, it’s a small step from wanting to keep your garden green and healthy to wanting to keep the whole earth that way. That’s why we began looking at ways to replace traditional plastic plant pots used in gardening and landscaping. We saw millions of plastic pots being used. Each one required the consumption of more oil and petroleum resources to create—and each one ended up in our landfills. We began exploring alternatives to plastic pots, and hit on a magic formula that turned plastic bottles into a versatile, geotextile material that keeps plants healthy by letting excess water drain and allowing roots to breathe and grow. Today, Root Pouch offers a range of sustainable gardening products made from a mix of recycled water bottles and natural recycled materials. Not one drop of new oil, petroleum or fossil fuel is used in their creation.

As temperatures drop, Root Pouch grow bags help moderate soil temperatures with our natural-fiber-blended fabric, providing an extra layer of protection for healthy root systems through the colder months.

Combined with the usual practice of grouping pots can-tight for overwintering, Root Pouch's natural fiber blend helps moderate temperature and moisture around the root zone.

Did you know Root Pouch has what we call our Designer Line — perfect for growing succulents, small houseplants, and herbs? 🌿

Designed for desks, coffee tables, bookshelves, and even store or restaurant displays, these stylish fabric pots bring gardening indoors.

They come in three sizes — our Joey, Jill and Jack (pictured and largest of the three). Each is made from our signature breathable, natural fiber fabric, promoting healthy roots while looking great in any space.

🪴 Tip: Our fabric is porous, so when growing indoors, we recommend placing your Root Pouch on a tray or dish to protect surfaces.
