The Harper-Chesser House here in Georgetown has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1986, and we're honored to be trusted with its care. We started with the windows, and there's more to come.

Texas fall is here 🍂
Leaves are dropping and the fall rains are on the way, so now’s a good time to make sure your gutters are ready.

Here’s what our gutter cleaning includes:
▪Debris removal. We haul it off, or leave it for you as garden mulch if you’d like. It’s great for that, which is why you sometimes see little trees sprouting in gutters!
▪Downspout check. We make sure downspouts are clear all the way to the openings. If something’s blocked further down, we’ll let you know.
▪Gutter covers. We remove them, clean underneath, and put them back on when we’re done.
▪Trim and drainage inspection. We look for trim rot and any issues with how water is being routed away from your home.

Here are some before and after pictures for driveway and sidewalk expansion joint repairs! 🛠️

BEFORE: Rotted wood strips and open joints packed with leaves, acorns, and dirt. Gaps like these let water get under your slabs and invite weeds and ants.

AFTER: Clean, sealed joints with a flexible sealant that blends in with exposed aggregate concrete and lets the slabs move with the Texas heat and cold.

Forecasters expect a strong El Niño this winter, which usually means a cooler, wetter season for Central Texas. Cracked or shrunken caulk is one of the most common ways water gets into walls and attics, and re-caulking is a relatively inexpensive way to head off bigger repairs.

Fall is also a good time to do it, since the milder temperatures let caulk cure properly.
When we caulk, we:
Scrape out the old caulk rather than going over it
Check each window for leaks
Look for any trim, soffit or fascia damage caused by failed caulk

Most homes take about half a day, and we offer both color-matched and standard white caulk.

Fall is finally showing up! Cooler mornings are a great time to find drafts around your house. Stand near your doors and windows on a chilly morning. If you feel air moving or see daylight around the edges of a closed door, your weatherstripping or door sweep is worn out.

Worn seals let in cold air, let out the air you’re paying to heat, and can let in bugs and rainwater too. It’s usually a quick, inexpensive fix that pays off all winter.

Forecasters are watching a strong El Niño that could bring a wetter-than-usual winter to Central Texas. One of the easiest ways to keep that water out of your walls and attic is fresh caulk around your windows.

Caulk dries out, cracks, and pulls away over time, and those gaps let water get behind your trim. By the time you notice, it can mean rotted trim, soffit, or fascia, which is a much bigger repair than the caulk ever was.

A quick check: walk around your house and look at the caulk around your windows. If it’s cracked, shrinking, or peeling away, it’s time for us to pay you a visit so we can scrape out the old and put in the new.
