🎄 Holiday Ready: What’s the Difference Between SPT-1 and SPT-2 Wire? 🎄

When shopping for holiday light stringers, spools, or bulk wire, you’ll often see SPT-1 and SPT-2 wire options. Here’s what you need to know before you buy:

🔹 SPT-1
• Most commonly used wire type
• Features thinner insulation (0.03")
• Ideal for seasonal installations lasting less than 90 days
• Performs well in most climates, including cold and snowy weather, for short-term use

🔹 SPT-2
• Has thicker insulation (0.045") for added durability
• Designed for long-term or permanent installations (more than 90 days)
• Better suited for extremely cold climates and long outdoor exposure

❗ Important: Always make sure that any sockets or plugs you add match the wire’s SPT rating (SPT-1 or SPT-2) for safety and proper fit!
