Our crew recently got a refresher on safety and chainsaw sharpening from Mike Melito. A well-kept saw makes for a safer job.🪚 Thanks for the session, Mike!

: How often should trees be inspected?

Here in New England, our trees deal with a lot: nor’easters, heavy wet snow, ice storms, and summer droughts. That’s why we recommend having an ISA-Certified Arborist inspect your established trees once a year, especially the big, mature ones near your home or driveway. Routine pruning is typically needed every 3–5 years, depending on the species and condition of the tree.

Some signs mean you shouldn’t wait for your annual check:
✔️Cracked or hanging limbs after a storm
✔️A tree that has started to lean
✔️ Early leaf drop, discoloration, or thinning
✔️Fungal growth, peeling bark, or insect activity
✔️Upcoming construction or digging near the roots

With winter storm season right around the corner, now is the time to make sure your trees are ready. Call us at (508) 290-6606 to schedule an inspection!

See those roots? They're exactly where they should be. 🌳

When a new electrical line had to run through this bed, DJ and Tim grabbed the instead of a shovel. Compressed air clears away the soil without cutting through roots, so the surrounding trees and plants barely notice we were there. A little extra care during the dig means healthier, happier trees for years to come.

After a multi-year drought across , many trees are still recovering, and stressed are more vulnerable to pests like magnolia scale.

is a sap-feeding insect that shows up as raised, tan-to-brown bumps along the branches. Left alone, it can cause sticky honeydew, black sooty mold, yellowing leaves, and branch dieback.

Fall is a great time to treat. Our plant health care team treats magnolia scale both now and in early summer, so whether you act this season or plan ahead for next, your trees have options. The sooner it's addressed, the sooner your magnolia can get back to healthy growth. Seeing signs of magnolia scale on your property? This Elm tree has been through a lot. We're not letting it go out like that. 💪🌳

Mike Melito got to work on this splitting elm at a southeastern Mass golf course: two through-rods to pull the split back together and a steel cable to take the weight off up top.

"We had a large birch and Norway maple in our backyard that had gotten quite substantial, and we wanted to open things up to bring more light into the yard and our gardens. From start to finish, TreeTech was fantastic.

Michael was our sales representative, and he did an excellent job walking us through the process. He took the time to explain what could and should be done with each tree and, more importantly, educated us.." says Jess on Google

Tim, one of our ISA-certified arborists, treated this on the Wheaton campus for a root-flare injection; one of the most effective ways to protect a mature tree from disease and pests as it heads into fall. By delivering treatment straight into the tree's vascular system, we can target problems at the source without spraying the surrounding lawn or landscape.

If your trees looked stressed this summer (thinning leaves, early color change, or new pest activity) now's the time for an inspection. Some issues move fast, and catching them early is the difference between treatment and removal.
