Our fun new booth at Sleepy Poet Antique Mall antique mall (Aisle 4) is full of unique vintage and antique items we’ve collected to style client projects and photo shoots. Here’s how we used two of the items (both currently available) to style a recent project photo shoot. The details:

Styling Shot No. 10: We used this vintage Asian temple jar to hold yellow tulips in our great room project. The jar’s colors look fantastic with the artwork and other decor in the room.

We also used the woven lidded basket to hold a fern under the console, adding fresh green to the look inspired by a favorite historic Charleston hotel.

Styling Shot No. 9: We used these vintage carved wood Don Quixote bookends (booth seen in lower right photo) for book display in our great room project.

The carved matte wood figurine bookends look great next to the glossy green lamp, adding contrast and interest to the tabletop for a collected look inspired by a favorite historic Charleston hotel.

More progress on our Phase II project! A few details:

1. Roman shade in a linen floral w/lavender trim was installed by Decorating With Style in the new powder room (don’t miss the tall Calacatta Viola backsplash and lavender faux grasscloth wallpaper installed by Jennifer Papineau, Owner).
2. Roman shades in a black ticking stripe with Aubergine velvet trim installed by Decorating With Style in the mudroom.
3. Custom throw pillows (for the new apartment) pick-up at Needle Precision.
4. Ralph Lauren animal print bedding for the new apartment (animal print sheets and duvet look great with the plaids).
5. Drapery panels installed by Decorating With Style in the apartment dining area.
6. Bonus shot of the soon-to-be styled new kitchen details - warm Calacatta Gold marble, incised white oak cabinets, huge range hood from Francois & Co. and lighting that ties it all together.

Another behind the scenes look, this time at our custom framer’s workshop selecting art framing for our Phase II project!

We have lots of new already framed art on order for this project but we also love to mix in vintage and antique originals to enrich the look and feel of each room. However, it almost always needs reframing so today we worked to select the perfect mats and frames for each of these pieces.

A behind the scenes look at preparations for our Phase II project! These pillow fabrics are heading off to the upholsterer (Needle Precision) for the style apartment space over the new garage.

Two plaids, a blue mohair and a velvety tweed will look great with animal print bedding and Jacobean patterned draperies with pleated velvet trim (swipe to see those in the studio of Decorating With Style).

With our remodel soon to be finished, we’re completing the furniture purchases with a few items still needed to fill important spots in our furniture plan.

Currently stored in this large warehouse unit is over 90% of the items that will furnish the 4,100 square foot beach house. All are vintage or antique, with the exception of upholstery which is on order with . While shopping for the past 5 months for desired items, we built the main look with furnishings made in the 1940s to 1960 era, of hard rock maple or cherry, in a Colonial style with a light to medium finish.

We still needed a few main items to complete the furniture plan and add a collected over time look and we found some of them this week! Swipe to see what we found and where it’s all going.

Styling Shot No. 8: We used this vintage enameled bowl with gold rim stacked on books and holding pistachios in our Great Room photo shoot.

The light green and gold look great with the dark wood coffee table and other more rustic items. It is currently available in our booth on Aisle 4!

The downstairs demo is done and next this wall will come out to create a larger great room. We’re giving up this bedroom, 1 out of 7, to create a larger great room that will seat 16.

We’re also replacing the single window with a double window that will take in the best creek view of the house!

Styling Shot No. 7: We used this antique hand woven basket with a light red wash in our English Country Remodel project. It looked great on the stone hearth, the basket’s red tinge picking up the colors in the English plaid throw pillows. Basket is currently available!

Painting the exterior is done! âś… The house (creek side shown) is now bright and beachy with a fresh new white color.

The decision of what white to use was made after extensive sampling. The warm-ish white makes the existing tan roof (new in 2024) look completely different and better! Swipe to see the before picture.

Up next are window shutters and louvered walls under the house, both in a dark shaded green.

The creek porch will soon have a new code-compliant screening system with no balusters or pickets needed other than a vertical support every 6’. It allows an almost seamless view of the creek whether sitting or standing.
