From architectural details and construction progress to a few unexpected four-legged visitors, there’s never a dull moment around the property.

An addition should feel like it was always part of the home.

We're nearing completion on the Beck Residence in Eugene's Riverwalk Subdivision, where a new bedroom suite will create more room for a growing family.

The goal from the beginning was to make the addition feel seamless, both inside and out. By carefully connecting the new space to the existing family room, we're creating a hallway where large windows once stood, while maintaining the home's original architectural character.

Beyond the design, this project required thoughtful coordination around site constraints and FEMA compliance requirements. Working closely with Kalau Builders, Andy Lane Interiors, and Robert's Surveying, we've been able to navigate the details while keeping the client's vision at the forefront.

It's a reminder that even a modest addition takes careful planning, clear communication, and a team that works well together.

Site improvements are underway at Treetops, and the property is being prepared for the landscape design by Stangeland & Associates Landscape as work continues around the house.

Arbor South, Six Degrees Construction Company and Stangeland & Associates Landscape Architecture and Design are coordinating the building and site work as the project moves forward.

Water conservation looks very different when it’s built into the architecture from the beginning.

Tyler Stone, lead Draftsman at Arbor South Architecture, shares what he learned from Earthship homes in New Mexico, where rainwater is collected and used more than once before it ever leaves the building.

It’s a different way of thinking about one of our most basic resources - and a good reminder that sustainable design goes well beyond adding solar panels.

Thinking about adding a little (or a lot) more space to your home this fall?

We're wrapping up another residential addition in partnership with Kalau Builders, and it's a great example of how thoughtful design and teamwork can make a difference.

The goal was to create a guest bedroom suite for the homeowners' children and grandchildren, with an addition that feels like it's always been part of the home.

With less than five feet of access along one side of the house, this project came with some unique construction challenges. Through close coordination with Kalau Builders, we've worked through those complexities while keeping the client's vision, budget, and timeline at the center of every decision.

Six Degrees Construction Company built a full-scale siding and window mockup at Tree Tops so the team could review the details before moving forward.

The mockup gives Arbor South and the construction team a chance to look at weather barrier transitions, siding spacing, trim, window details, and paint colors together.

A small mockup can help answer a lot of questions for the team!

Not every site comes with an easy answer.

Ryan Rojas, Principal at Arbor South Architecture, works through everything from steep slopes and grand views to setbacks, easements, zoning, and height restrictions.

Instead of treating those constraints as something to work around, they become part of the design problem. And sometimes, they’re what lead to the most interesting solution.

There’s a lot happening at Treetops.

This historic renovation is progressing, from existing framing and foundation conditions to exterior detailing, site work, and the careful coordination that connects it all.

Projects like this reveal themselves layer by layer. As construction moves forward, Arbor South continues working closely with Six Degrees Construction Company to respond to existing conditions, refine details, and keep the larger design moving in the right direction, with Stangeland & Associates Landscape Architecture and Design leading the site design..

A good before-and-after is about more than a new look.

For this 1990s home, the goal was to create a larger, more welcoming front porch, bring more character to the exterior, and accommodate larger garage doors for different vehicle types. Rather than starting from scratch, we looked to the home’s existing materials and forms for cues, using what was already there to guide a thoughtful exterior refresh.

The result is a home that feels renewed, while still connected to its original character.
