Welcome back to where we like to reminisce a bit, and share stories from the past 24 years of building our family’s nursery business.

I love to drag out this “American Gothic” stylized photo of us every year. Somehow, and seriously I mean somehow, I talked Vic into dressing up with me for this shot in front of the Secret Garden in 2011. So out of character! Do either of us strike you as “play dress up” kind of people??!!😂 I think that’s why I love it so much. We were both so uncomfortable, but I really wanted to use it for some marketing piece and he went along with it for me.

This year, since we’re running this Secret Garden Sunday series I figured I’d add a few other pictures. Let’s call this post “24/44” as we are celebrating 24 years in business and 44 years of being together. Happy Anniversary to us on both counts! And thanks to all of you who have come along and been part of this wild ride with us!🥰

Welcome back to another weekly episode of . This is where we like to reminisce a bit, and share stories from the past 24 years of building our family’s nursery business.

We recently had to replace the wood on one of our pottery racks in front of the gift shop and that of course got us reminiscing again. I guess it’s true as you get older you’ve always got a story to tell!😂

It was October 2018 and it had been a long, hot summer. It was time to bite the bullet and add some shade to the front of the gift shop. So out came Victor’s tape measure! Once he had it designed, the work started. Do you even remember when the fountains were all up along the railing? Gosh it seems so long ago!

October was over when it was finally completed and the fun part could start. Designing how we wanted the traffic flow to work and what kind of display tables we needed. Of course that meant spending the next month designing and building all the tables! Then bringing in all the product to fill all those new tables. Sometimes we can’t help but giggle (or roll our eyes😉) when someone says how lucky we are that we get to care for flowers all day long! Truth is, we have loved this work and wouldn’t have it any other way.😊
