Some pieces finish a room. Others give it personality.

Meet Ferm Living. From sculptural vases to softly curved furniture, the Copenhagen brand brings texture, warmth, and a touch of the unexpected to Danish design.

A quiet corner, shaped by Resident. The Sacha Armchair’s folded back and slender upholstered arms meet the rounded solid oak forms of the Offset Stool / Side Table.

Both designed by Philippe Malouin, they offer a pairing for a reading nook or bedroom retreat—with a side table that doubles as an extra seat.

A softer silhouette. Wrapped in ivory bouclé, the Sam floor lamp from Hilary Matt x Mitzi brings tactile texture and elongated proportions to a bedside or reading nook.

A little color, a few cocktails, and plenty of connection.

EL Design was pleased to co-sponsor the WILD Fall Gathering with Marset at Belmont Tavern. Thank you to Women in Lighting Design and everyone who joined us for an evening of coloring and conversation with Chicago’s lighting community.

The brightest thing in the showroom today? The students!

Today we welcomed the Interior Design Department at College of DuPage into EL Design to explore the stories behind our lighting and furniture—and the technical details that shape a space, from accent versus task lighting to damp and wet ratings and acoustic lighting.

Curious, creative, and full of energy, this next generation of designers gave us plenty to look forward to. Thank you for visiting!

Washi paper shades, warm wood, low silhouettes, and clean joinery: Japandi pairs Japanese restraint with Scandinavian warmth. Handformed ceramics and tactile linen bring softness, while asymmetry and patina reflect the wabi-sabi appreciation for imperfection.

This week, the ASID Illinois Board of Directors joined us for dinner and a tour, then settled in for their board meeting. We loved sharing the showroom and giving the team a place to gather.

Thank you to new president Katharine Andrews and the entire board for spending the evening with us. Our doors are always open to you.

A British lamp from 1930. A chair inspired by a beetle’s shell. Both belong to GUBI.

From Robert Dudley Best’s Bauhaus-inspired Bestlite to GamFratesi’s Beetle Chair, GUBI brings different eras and design ideas into the same room. The pleasure is in the mix.

On sale for a limited time—link in bio.
