A special shadowbox for a lifetime of memories honoring a beloved grandfather was a heartwarming project to create. Presented with Grandpas shirt and a photo, I was challenged with creating a memory box. This “forever hug” represents the love of grandpa to the family…and my client, his grandson.

Ink dots, or Stippling, created this incredible detailed drawing of the iconic Edina Grill restaurant which permanently closed September 2025, after 26 years of operation in Edina’s 50th & France neighborhood.

Edina school colors are yellow and green so in seeking to add a twist to the black pre-matted artwork, I added a yellow wood side panel to the inside of the black frame creating a shadowbox effect and added dimension. Depending on your viewing angle, you’ll see less or more of the yellow.

Share your thoughts on this design effect!

New moulding samples! From the tradeshow I attended in February a lot of new profiles were selected based on “your” projects. In June these tables were filled with these “new” options! Over the last several months we purged discontinued, made tough decisions on eliminating others, and then needed to find a bit of space to merge all these into some order!

So come on in and see what’s new in woods, color, shapes, and textures! Together, we’ll ensure your custom framing projects continue to be unique, innovative, and unconventional! Cause when it comes right down to it, the right frame is the frame which best compliments to your artwork!

Reminder, there’s only a few more weeks to ensure that holiday orders can be produced timely. Schedule your design time soon!

It’s been a busy week, but I just have to share this fun limited edition print that was just finished! This gold gilded goose was complemented by Bright and shiny gold frames. I love this artwork!

As always please share your thoughts!

Shhhhhh… less that 10 weeks till the big guy starts flying in the sky! For me… that means I’m starting to think - oh oh - it’s about 4 weeks till a possible cut off guarantee “for before the big day!” WOW!!’

Variety. Challenges. Accomplishments. At the end of the day, looking back on a display of varied custom framed presentations offers immense satisfaction to a creative person. Knowing that you need to design personal, distinct projects forward, extinguish unexpected fires, and always learning something new along the way creates a sense of achievement- when one stops to “smell the roses!”

Enjoy a recent display of the variety (and diversity of skill sets needed) awaiting pickup. Any project that catches your eye?

Here’s the next project. Just needed to expand my joining table to accommodate this frame. (Stay tuned for this completed project… now delayed due to mis-cutting 1 of the 12 legs….sigh…more moulding on order)

Here’s the completed Stitchery project that was highlighted in my previous post. This client is such a precision Stitcher that I’m always honored to be a part of the legacy of the projects that she creates for her grandkids. The reverse side of this stitched project is just as clean as the front. For those of you that stitch you know that that is a mastery level.

In case you missed it check out my previous post as to some of the extra customization that went into this Framing project. As always, I appreciate your comments - and shares!

“Customization” is always a part of my “custom framing!” Taking extra steps to create a custom color for the fillet which will accent this sampler is one reason Framing Solutions isn’t your usual frame shop. If I “don’t have it” I’ll create it!

I love textiles-and as a former stitcher myself, I am in awe of the hours it takes for creating any stitched work. Celebrate your achievement and let frame it!

A special note card which touches your heart is a perfect item to custom frame. This note card with its beautiful quilling and touching note is a perfect example. Framed with a deep rose toned frame, a rich navy mat, and a decorative pink-marbled inner accent liner, a personal note has been transformed into timeless wall display.
