Every single day, hundreds of students walk, bike, or drive through S Myrtle Avenue to get to school or college. But with a new shopping center planned, we're looking at 3,000 additional vehicles pouring into an already packed street. That's not just inconvenient—it's a safety crisis waiting to happen.

Our kids shouldn't have to navigate a highway to get an education. Speed humps, pedestrian crossings, better bike lanes—these aren't fancy ideas, they're proven ways to keep people safe. Other communities have done this and it works. We're asking our local authorities to act before construction wraps up and it's too late to make changes.

If you drive, walk, or have kids on this street, you know how hectic it already is. Does anyone else think we need to do something about this before it gets worse?
