“When the leaves fall, the whole earth is a cemetery pleasant to walk in.” -Henry David Thoreau
There is magic in the decay of Autumn. A shock of color before long, sleepy winters. This year’s death is a promise of next year’s life. Every leaf, a gift for the future garden.
We leave our stalks and seed heads standing, not just because they feed and house bees and birds, but because we see beauty in the fading.
So take a walk,
enjoy the fresh, crisp, and rustling leaves,
and have a Happy Halloween 🎃 👻
