Another big day of progress on my kitchen remodel
All the upper cabinets are installed, I started working on the base cabinets, installed the microwave, and got the stove in place. The microwave is working, and things are finally starting to look like a real kitchen!
I did run into a little issue with the blind corner cabinet. It doesn’t reach all the way into the corner, leaving about an 8-inch gap. Not a huge deal since the dishwasher and countertop will cover most of that area, but I think a 39 or 42-inch cabinet might have worked better. I have a plan to cover the gap with plywood for a cleaner look, although it’s not really necessary.
Tomorrow I’ll finish the remaining base cabinets, install the toe kicks, touch up some scratches, clean up all the dust, and get everything ready for the granite countertops. The countertop templating and installation are scheduled, so we’re getting closer!
Every project has a few surprises, but that’s part of the process. Follow along as I finish this kitchen remodel and share the progress, challenges, and solutions along the way!
