My friend Ms. Rhonda asked me to help her with her home, and of course, I was thrilled!
When I arrived, I asked her what she was hoping to replace.
She said, āNothing! I just want to use what I have, but I think it can be better.ā
MUSIC to my ears. šš¼ My fave kind of design!
We moved a console from her dining room to an empty wall in her kitchen. We swapped chairs from her living room to her eating nook. We created a gallery wall with meaningful art we found scattered throughout her home. We traded a square end table for a round one to soften the space. We cleared surfaces, grouped her purple dish collection, moved lamps, and rehung art at the right height.
These changes transformed her space, and it cost her exactly ZERO dollars.
And THIS is why I always recommend shopping your own home and figuring out whatās actually missing BEFORE you spend money on new things.
Once weād made the most of what she already had, we could see exactly where spending a little money would make the biggest impact: Roman shades in her kitchen, a rug, and a new chandelier in her dining room.
The goal isnāt to never buy anything new. Itās to stop spending money on things that arenāt solving the problem and start making intentional choices that make your home better.
And if youād love help transforming your own home (without renovating or spending a fortune), thatās exactly why I created The Room-by-Room Edit!
Itās a 10-day guided experience to rework, repurpose, and refresh the spaces in your home ā with practical design tips, budget-friendly ideas, and help making your home feel more intentional, collected, and cozy.
