Shout out to the guys at Jim's Landscaping! Jim reached out and asked about craning some large trees over a house as the access on the west side of town can be tricky. We discussed it and formed a plan. His customers picked out some nice Ponderosa, Pinon, and Austrian Pines. We coordinated having the trees tied up and the rootballs dried enough so they would hold together while being craned. We even had them park the trees in a barn over the weekend so they wouldn't get too wet due to the rain. Then Monday they made the magic happen. It's cool to see projects like this come to life when we all work together. Nice work Jim and crew! Some more pics in the comments.

As the days get shorter, and the temps get cooler our plants begin their process of getting ready for the upcoming winter. We see lots of panic about the first freeze each year. Some seasons Mother Nature really “rips off the Band-Aid” so to speak, but this one she has allowed for a very slow and un-eventful ease into the first cold of fall season. What does this mean for your plants? New growth will come to and end. If they haven’t already, the leaves will change color and begin to fall to the ground. Your grasses and perennials will slowly fade to their winter interest.

Does this mean the planting season is over? Absolutely not! With cooler temps, cooler soil, and no new top growth for trees, shrubs, and perennials to put energy towards, they instead focus on root growth until the ground temps get too cold. And they do this with less water requirements than spring and summer. Late October and through November is a great time to add to your landscape. Don’t let the pumpkin spice everything and Christmas displays at the box stores fool you into missing an opportune time to get new trees and shrubs in the ground.

It’s also when we get the nursery ready for next season, and you can find some great deals on trees we are long on. Right now, there is a good list of trees that are 20% off through the end of this month, and possibly into November. All our perennials are buy 3, get 3 FREE while they last. So, grab a pumpkin spice anything, tell the Christmas decorations they can wait another 4-6 weeks, and come add some beauty to your landscaping. As always, our amazing team is here to help!

Finally getting our mailbox repaired after a semi truck hit and damaged it this Spring. Thanks to for making it whole again. They built the original around 2019 I believe. It's one of my favorite things at the nursery.
