Resharing this post about Kathy Corby and her first quilt. She finally finished her top a couple weeks ago, sent it home with Rob Wheeler, and I got it quilted and bound in time for an unexpected trip back to ND.
Was the quilting and binding a simple job? Of course not, because that daughter of mine doesn't do simple or traditional. Yes, the quilting was easy. Yes, the binding was easy. But, when I asked what she wanted on her label, she found some crazy Pinterest idea for putting the quilt info on the binding! (Why, oh why, can't she do the normal beginner process and just do what her mother tells her?!? Oh, yeah, because she's obstinate just like her mother!)
So, of course, I felt the challenge and had to try giving her what she wanted, label in the binding. I "guess" it turned out OK...just don't tell Kathy that she successfully manipulated me right out of my comfort zone again! (OH, wait, y'all don't know about the Dresden Debackle...I'll have to let you know all about that in the next few days!)
Anyway, shout out to Kathy with her very first quilt! Pics in the comments.
