A tornado warning is NOT the time to figure out your family’s safety plan. 🌪️

When severe weather strikes, every second matters. Knowing exactly where to go and having a designated safe space can make all the difference.

Preparation happens before the storm, so when the sirens sound, you can focus on getting your family to safety. ❤️

Here’s what most people don’t realize: Above-ground tornado shelters aren’t just big metal boxes. They’re ENGINEERED to withstand extreme tornado conditions.

Our shelters have undergone debris-impact testing at Texas Tech University’s National Wind Institute, where testing simulates dangerous flying debris associated with tornado winds up to 250 MPH.

We’re talking about a 15-pound 2×4 launched at 100 MPH! 😳

But there’s another important piece: HOW the shelter is installed.

Our above-ground shelters are secured to a concrete foundation using heavy-duty anchors. If you’ve ever seen the aftermath of a violent tornado, you know that sometimes the foundation is all that’s left standing.

That’s exactly why proper installation matters!

You don’t have to go underground to have serious tornado protection. 💪

Another family officially has their safe place. 🤍🌪️

This is one of our favorite parts of the job.

A shelter starts as a conversation with a homeowner. Then it’s ordered, delivered, installed and suddenly there’s a safe place sitting right there at their home if they ever need it.

We know a storm shelter is a big investment — and we hope every single customer spends YEARS looking at theirs without ever needing it.

But when Tennessee weather decides to do what Tennessee weather does?

They have a plan.

And that peace of mind is exactly why we do this.

Another round of shelters is officially being ordered for November! 🌪️🙌

Every time we place another order with our manufacturer, we think about the families those shelters are going home to.

Someone’s garage.
Someone’s backyard.
Someone’s kids and pets who will have a safe place to go when the weather gets bad.

We’re incredibly grateful for every family who has trusted our small business to help protect theirs.

We still have availability coming up, so if you’ve been thinking about a storm shelter, now is a great time to start the conversation.

Send us a message, shoot us a text or give us a call. We’re happy to answer your questions and help you figure out which option makes the most sense for your home.

Fall is officially here. 🍂🌪️

And while spring gets most of the attention when it comes to tornadoes, severe weather doesn’t exactly check the calendar.

For us, being prepared isn’t about being scared of what could happen.

It’s about knowing that if the weather turns bad at 2 AM, the sirens go off while the kids are asleep, or you’re home alone with everyone — you already know what to do.

No scrambling. No trying to figure out which room is safest. You have a plan.

That’s what we mean when we say prepared, not scared.

365 days of Calm AF Co. 🌪️🥹

ONE WHOLE YEAR.

A year ago, we took a chance on an idea we believed in and started building something from the ground up… literally. 😂

And what a freaking year it has been.

We’ve learned. We’ve grown. We’ve made mistakes. We’ve problem-solved approximately 47,000 things we never saw coming. We’ve celebrated huge wins, had days that tested every ounce of patience we had, and somehow just kept figuring it out.

But more than anything, we’ve had the privilege of helping families feel a little safer in the place they should feel safest… their homes.

To every single person who has trusted us to install a shelter for your family: THANK YOU. That trust means more to us than you probably realize.

To everyone who has shared our posts, tagged us, recommended us, left a review, told a friend about us, or simply followed along and cheered us on, thank you for helping this little family business grow. 🥹🩷

And to our community here in Middle Tennessee: thank you for welcoming us, supporting us, and giving us the opportunity to build something we’re incredibly proud of.

Year one was a wild ride.

Here’s to year TWO and a whole lot more families becoming Prepared, Not Scared. 🌪️❤️
