Layers with texture and color work so well in this cozy garage apartment. Motorized woven wood shades provide the privacy when needed and patterned drapery with pleated velvet trim pull together all the colors in the room. A couple of other faux roman shades installed in the main house mudroom bath and hallway all designed by Lynn Blackwell Design

Last week was filled with some beautiful drapery installations in a primary bedroom and dining room. Traditional pleated drapery with embroidered tape trim layered over a roman shade along with a cut velvet tape trim on a gorgeous damask fabric showed off in these spaces. These new trim books have so many beautiful options — tape trims, pom poms, brush, decorative cord, ruffles and scallops— can’t wait to use these on future projects!

Christmas came early for my breakfast room — I couldn’t be more pleased with my custom table made by Geoff Rouser Geoff was amazing to work with on this design. He used an ash hardwood with a black stain to achieve the look of a painted black finish sealed with a catalyzed lacquer to withstand the daily use in this space

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but have been very busy fabricating and installing. Just a little glimpse of a huge project that has been in the works for a couple of months here at the studio — 29 motorized shades, drapery panels, cafe panels, woven wood shades and more to come — this home is gorgeous! So many beautiful fabrics and trims paired with custom hardware by Lundy’s Hardware — unlacquered polished brass french return rods complement the finishes throughout the home.
