From 90s honey-oak and laminate to a bright, high-function transitional space.
Here is what went into the transformation:

• Layout overhaul: Removed the tight corner dining table and L-shaped peninsula to drop in a rich, dark-stained wood center island with casual seating.

• Cabinetry & storage: Installed ceiling-height white shaker cabinets, integrated pantry towers around the fridge, and built-in microwave housing to clear the counters.

• Surfaces: Upgraded to durable quartz countertops with subtle veining and a full-height marble-look tile backsplash.

We are absolutely head over heels for this incredible kitchen transformation! Swipe to see how we took this space from heavy cherry cabinets and dark countertops to a bright, modern farmhouse oasis.

By swapping out the dark wood for crisp white perimeter cabinetry, updating the walls to a fresh light grey, and running that stunning white and grey granite across all surfaces, the entire room completely opened up. We kept the original hardwood floors for warmth and tied them into the design with chunky, rustic wooden floating shelves over a brand-new dry bar area. We traded the bright orange walls, dated oak cabinets, and cramped layout for a beautifully expanded, modern space designed for cooking and entertaining.

• Cabinet & Color Upgrade: Goodbye, 90s oak! We installed elegant light gray shaker cabinets around the perimeter paired with a rich, contrasting charcoal gray finish on the island base.

• Premium Countertops: The perimeter features durable, sleek gray concrete-look countertops, while the island steals the show with a stunning, high-movement granite slab.

• Modern Accents: A deep dark gray farmhouse apron-front sink paired with a matte black pull-down faucet anchors the window view.

They said autism…it’s a 50/50 shot your son will ever speak. He didn’t… Till 24 months old. He started with white car, black car, red car and many other colors. No pointing. No asking for food or a drink. Nothing. We said it’s our Bradley and we don’t accept the version where he won’t communicate. Therapy. A lot of it. 5 hours each day for 5 years. Here we are and couldn’t be any happier. 🤩 In our family we say autism IS difficult but the way YOU handle it is AWESOME 💪

• The Before: A traditional layout with an enclosed living room, honey-oak cabinets, laminate countertops, and a peninsula that cut off the flow to the kitchen.
• The During: Taking it down to the studs! We removed the load-bearing partition walls, updated the electrical routing, and opened up the entire floor plan. 🛠️
• The After: The ultimate reveal! A stunning open-concept kitchen featuring charcoal shaker cabinets, sleek quartz countertops with a massive center island, stainless steel appliances, and matching dark hardwood floors that flow seamlessly into a bright, airy living room.

✨ Out with the old, and completely in love with the new ✨

We finally took down the walls, ditched the dated tile, and gave this kitchen the open-concept footprint it always deserved.
By removing the partition between the original kitchen and dining area, we were able to completely transform the flow of the home. The cramped, U-shaped layout was replaced with an expansive central island in a stunning slate blue, complete with built-in appliances and seating for the whole family. We swapped out the old brown countertops and traditional upper cabinets for bright white shaker cabinetry, a custom range hood, and elegant marble-veined quartz countertops. Wide-plank flooring ties the entire open space together, flowing naturally into a newly integrated dining nook.

📏 Layout: Knocked down the main dividing wall to merge the kitchen and dining room into one cohesive, light-filled space.

🏝️ The Island: Added a massive central island featuring a slate blue base, built-in microwave, beverage fridge, and gold hardware.

💨 Cabinetry & Hood: Upgraded to crisp white shaker-style cabinets extended to the ceiling, anchored by a beautiful custom-crafted hearth hood.

◽️ Surfaces: Replaced dark granite countertops and basic tile with a clean picket-tile backsplash and polished white quartz surfaces.

🪵 Flooring: Swapped out two different types of flooring (dated kitchen tile and traditional thin oak planks) for a uniform, warm wide-plank wood floor throughout.

💡 Lighting: Layered in oversized white cone pendant lights with brass accents over the island to complement the new recessed ceiling lights.
