Installing decorative lighting and new furniture are the final touches for this project. The custom w**e units Fittings Metal Collection give this small space a big impact under the stairs. LED lighting is the extra detail to showcase the area.

Ever wonder what goes into creating custom cabinetry? We recently had the opportunity to tour HOMESTEAD CABINETS manufacturing facility and see firsthand the incredible process behind the finished product. From precision machinery and endless wood finishes to handcrafted details, specialty textures, and beautiful metal inlays, every step brings together technology, artistry, and craftsmanship. As interior designers we truly love seeing how people make the objects we put into people’s homes. A huge thank you to the whole team at Homestead Cabinets for their generous hospitality as well as Creative Cabinetry for inviting and hosting us as well! It was an amazing opportunity- didn’t mind the extra time with Rockridge Building Company either! Go team!

It’s takes time, effort, scaffolding and a very patient electrician to get a custom chandelier hung. I was lucky enough to have my client there to help in the process so we could look from every angle!

The best part of a remodel are the stories that go with it and this is one of favorites. This safe was found in the basement there were studs on it and a portion of the house was built just on top of it. Being that this house was the town pharmacy there are so many options as to what can be inside?? Gold??? The client loved the history and the look of the safe itself they wanted to incorporate it into the design of the bar. No easy feat for the builder to move though! Now it’s there holding a mystery of what might be inside, never to be really opened but great stories to be told of what “might” be there. We love that clients can embrace unique experiences into their homes.

Would you open the safe or keep the mystery alive?

Setting the scene with your accessories mean gathering items that are cherished and arranging them with balance and texture. Never just try once but play around with the pieces and most importantly add new treasures along the way.

The heart of the home will always be the kitchen, a place to gather and enjoy food and company. In these historic remodels it’s often labeled the connector where the existing meets the new. We layered natural stone with warm wood tones in a compact and efficient layout. Wood beams add the additional cozy architectural dimension needed for this space where our clients enjoy conversations and morning coffee. 📸:

This historic renovation with our client in where the craftsmanship shines through and the kitchen was designed to honor the history of the home while supporting the way we live today.
For this historic Breckenridge residence, every detail was thoughtfully considered—from preserving the home’s character to integrating modern functionality, custom cabinetry, and timeless finishes. The result is a space that feels authentic to its roots while serving as the heart of the home for years to come. 📸:
