Our story began with a mountain home of our own.

Shawn is an Ashe County native with deep family roots in construction. He and his father developed Stonebridge, a restored log home community in Todd, where we made our home.

When we began furnishing it, we struggled to find the rustic pieces we loved locally. We believed others would share our love for furnishings that felt at home in the mountains—and in 2001, we opened The Cabin Store in West Jefferson.

Twenty-five years later, we still work with some of the same barnwood and lodge furniture makers who helped us get started. Along the way, we’ve welcomed other trusted American manufacturers and expanded our styles as our clients’ tastes have evolved.

Our commitment remains the same: quality American-made furnishings, personal service, and helping you make your mountain home your own.

Thank you for being part of our story. Come see us in West Jefferson or Boone—we’d love to be part of yours.

🌿 Bring the colors of the forest into your mountain home!

Imagine soft sage, earthy olive, or rich forest green paired with warm wood and cozy textures. Need help pulling it together? Try the 60–30–10 decorating rule:

🤍 60% main color: Warm cream or soft taupe on walls and larger furnishings creates an inviting foundation.

🌿 30% secondary color: Bring in green through upholstered chairs, window treatments, or a rug to connect your room with the outdoors.

🤎 10% accent color: Add touches of rust or warm copper through pillows, throws, and decorative accessories.

Think of these proportions as a guide—you don’t need to measure! Repeat your colors around the room for a look that feels connected and comfortable.

Because the beauty outside your window can inspire the comfort inside your home.

Stop by The Cabin Store in Boone or West Jefferson. We’re always happy to help you find your mountain style!
