We are growing garlic, so we gotta get everything prepped! Of course everything is a family affair around here, so it was all hands on deck.

A shipment arrived today and you would have thought it was Christmas around here! The Lane Shark USA LS3 is here, and let me tell ya Ryan cannot wait to trim every fence line on the farm. Stella also thought it was for her, and she LOVED her birthday present.

Let’s answer your top question about storing feed in a IBC tote:

- Where do you get the gate? Comment gate and I will send you the link. It’s surprisingly super easy to install.

- Does the feed get wet from rain and condensation? In our experience the only rain that has gotten in is from the grain gate. You can’t seal off the top because then the gate wouldn’t open. We avoid this by using a cover. When we did not have a cover there was minimal water that came in from the gate, it’s just added protection.

- How do you fill it with grain? If your tractor is big enough OR you have a trailer to leave it on you can take it to the feed mill! We normally buy 59 pound bags and load it in by hand.

- Why is your top different? We actually get a second tote and cut off the top of it, than make the hole on the original bigger. This makes filling it with feed that much easier.

- Have you had rodent problems? Surprisingly no. We have used this method for 8 months and have had no issues.

Have another question? Drop it in the comments!

May we never get too busy that we lose the ability to have a little fun.
