PAST PEAK

And the work is already done.

The maples let go this week. Only the oaks are hanging on, and the meadow has gone to seed. This is when Maine starts counting: cords stacked, tanks topped off, storm windows carried down from the attic. For this house, winter preparedness was built in when we raised its walls: thick and tight, windows set deep, every seam sealed. No cords to be delivered, just kindling for a warm glow. The oil truck can keep passing it by, price hikes and all. The house holds the warmth it’s given: low autumn sun through the glass, a pot on the stove, the people inside. Winter isn’t a reason to hurry. It’s an excuse to slow down, and here, it’s welcome.

SAVE THE DATE | NOVEMBER 6

Building Tools That Matter: Head, Heart & Hands

Good buildings start with how we think, what we value, and how we make things.

On Friday, November 6, we’re opening the doors to our Belfast shop, the first Phius-certified industrial manufacturing building in the country, for an afternoon of ideas, innovation, and conversation.

See how our high-performance building panels come together, then hear from three voices shaping the future of building:

Sara Kudra | Architecture Towards Neutral
Exploring bio-based building materials

Mike Felton | St. George Community Development
Building the next generation of builders

Emily Mottram | Mottram & Maines
Co-author of Pretty Good House

Stay for the reception, connect with fellow builders and designers, and be part of the conversation.

As the days get shorter, this is where an airtight, well-insulated home really earns its keep. Efficient heating, steady temperatures, no surprises on the energy bill.

The cost of a home is not only what it takes to build. It is also what it takes to own.

In a high-performance home, the costs for heating, cooling, water heating and other utilities are lower. With the addition of a small solar array, utilities can be zero. But beyond that, and perhaps more important, are the intangibles: quieter rooms, healthier air, steadier temperatures, complete comfort, lowered risk of damaging events, and greater peace of mind.

Now we have a more complete sense of value.

This is what building for the next fifty years looks like. Not just a pretty exterior, but a home designed to perform. Every GO Logic build starts with the building science, not just the blueprint.

Once we know the basics of the property and the project, we build a preliminary budget that includes the size of the home, likely upgrades, and basic site work costs based on what’s known at that stage.

That preliminary budget helps shape the design contract and gives clients a clearer early picture of what the project is likely to require. We rely on our decades of professional experience to shape initial budgets.

As design develops and site information becomes clearer, pricing becomes more specific and more reliable.

The goal is not to throw out a number early and hope for the best. The goal is to give people a realistic starting point and refine it as the project becomes more defined.

GO Logic can support projects in different ways depending on the site, location, and scope.

In a shell-only project, GO Logic provides the high-performance enclosure and key detailing, while a local GC or client-led team completes the rest of the work.

In a full-build project, GO Logic manages the project from beginning to end.
The right path depends on where you’re building, how you want the work managed, and what kind of team structure makes the most sense for the project.

Either way, the goal is the same: a home that performs the way it was designed to.
