We are back from the Danny Dietz Memorial World Championship Cookoff in Waller, TX where we competed against 75 big-gun teams.
We were fortunate enough to come home with some hardware.

🏅6th Place Pork
🏅4th Place MRE Jackpot

And definitely the highlight of the weekend:
Ben's son, Elliott taking home 🏅 1st Place in the Kid's Que Open Division! He represented J-B-Q BBQ with a 🔥 banana dessert!

Congratulations to Pop A Top Cookers on the GC and Bill Purvis with the RGC and everyone who heard their name called!

Huge thanks to Gulf Coast Smoke who's products were used in EVERY aspect of our weekend- pork and MRE included!

Our ancillary turn-ins from last night.

MRE challenge: we pulled beef ravioli, so we stuffed it in a wonton with cream cheese, tasso and jalapeno and topped it with fried jalapenos and Gulf Coast Smoke Cherry Pineapple Glaze.

Dessert: Campfire Peaches & Cream.
Smoked and grilled peach halves crusted with brown sugar, filled with cheesecake filling and topped with Bourbon hot honey atop sweet potato "hay."

We heard our name once and were JUST outside the top 10 for the other 2 proteins.

10th Brisket 🐮
11th Chicken 🐔
12 Ribs 🐷
