A home designed with the slope, sightline, and sea in mind. Set on nearly two acres of densely landscaped coastal terrain, this new construction residence was built to feel both year-round and distinctly connected to its setting. The site’s natural grade, view easement, and protected coastal conditions became guiding parameters, shaping the home’s orientation, lower-level living spaces, and relationship to the water. From above, the site tells its own story. Rooflines, symmetry, landscape, and approach all working together. A coastal home is never just placed on the land. It is shaped by it.

A pied-à-terre at the water’s edge, reimagined for light, calm, and view. The renovation opened the interior to its panoramic water views, creating a lighter, more transparent floor plan where nearly every angle feels connected to the harbor beyond. Scroll through the before and after to see how the space was transformed.

We’re honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best-In-State Residential Architects for 2026.

For four decades, Doreve Nicholaeff Architecture has been guided by a simple belief: a home should feel deeply connected to its place. To the land, the light, the water, and the lives unfolding within it.

Thank you to Forbes for this recognition, and to every client, collaborator, and creative partner who has helped shape the work along the way.
