In Loving Memory of Jason Duggan
It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share the passing of someone who meant so much to me, my family, and our American Dream Services family, Jason Duggan.
Where do I even begin?
I've known Jason for close to 30 years, and for nearly 15 of those years, we had the privilege of working side by side. Jason wasn't just an employee or our installation manager. He was my friend and someone who helped build American Dream Services at the very beginning.
He ran our installation department, led our crews, and took pride in the work we did. He was someone I could count on, not just professionally, but personally. Through the many trials, challenges, ups, and downs that life and business threw our way, Jason always had my back.
But our friendship went far beyond heating and air conditioning.
Jason was the guy who convinced a whole group of us to get into paintball, creating memories and friendships that had nothing to do with work. He was a die-hard Raiders fan, just like me, and we shared that bond through plenty of good seasons, bad seasons, and everything in between.
He was there at my wedding. He was there as my family grew. He built projects for my daughters' birthday parties (you wouldn't believe the monkey he made climbing up a tree made of pvc and fruit) he helped me with things around the house (cuz the man could fix or build anything), and did countless things for my wife, my girls, and me over the years.
There are honestly too many stories, too many memories, and too many acts of kindness to ever put into one post.
That's what made Jason special. He showed up for the people he cared about.
Over the years, our work family grew to include his brother Frank, whom Jason brought into American Dream Services. We sadly lost Frank last year, and now losing Jason too is heartbreaking beyond words.
My heart goes out to Jason's wife, Corrie, his son Troy, his daughters Chastity and Autumn, his granddaughter, his Mom and everyone who loved him. I know the loss we're feeling doesn't begin to compare to what his family is going through.
Jason leaves behind so much more than the installations he managed or the years he gave our company. He leaves behind friendships, laughter, loyalty, memories, and a lasting impact on the people fortunate enough to know him. He's already brought many of us old friends back to talking once again.
Jason, thank you.
Thank you for nearly three decades of friendship. Thank you for believing in me, standing beside me, helping build my dream, and being there for my family when we needed you.
I wish we had more time. More conversations. More laughs. More Raiders games to complain about. More memories to make.
You were so much more than a coworker. You were family.
Over the last few years, life took us in different directions. Jason moved to South Dakota, and although we kept in touch through an occasional text, we didn't talk nearly as much as we once did.
But that's the thing about a friendship that spans nearly 30 years. You don't forget the years you spent working shoulder to shoulder, the laughter, the struggles, the memories, or the person who stood beside you through some of life's toughest moments.
I wish we'd had another opportunity to sit down, have a b**r, laugh about the old days, and talk about how far life had taken us.
Sometimes you don't realize that the last conversation you had with someone really was the last.
And while the years may have put miles between us, they'll never erase the friendship or the impact Jason had on my life and my family.
Rest easy, my friend. You will never be forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Duggan family.
With love and gratitude,
The Allen & the American Dream Services Family
