It’s another beautiful day in paradise! 3PM on Friday. Here’s the whole stretch of road that our NC dot hero crews got up and running - this is less than 24 hours after reopening. There’s a little standing water just north of the new road area, but I didn’t have to wait at all.  yippee!!

It’s that wonderful time of year when we have a little more time to connect, experiment, and explore our creativity!

This year, we’re doing something new! All of our normally scheduled daily classes are now available ANYTIME you walk in!

• Wire-Wrapped Sea Glass Jewelry

Want to try watercolor painting 🖌️or learn to throw pottery on the wheel? This is the season to give it a go!

Or take your creativity a little further with new techniques in our usual favorites—🫟paint-your-own pottery, glass fusion, mosaics, and seashell painting.

No need to plan your day around a class schedule. Just stop in, pick something that inspires you, and let’s create!

Creative Season is all about trying something new, and enjoying the experience at your own pace.

Shout out to CHSS Marching band! What a small world🌎!

Our daughter Lindsey Eskins is the Band Director for Independence Middle School in Va Beach and the 🥁percussion instructor at Tallwood High School. Her partner Tim Rossettini is the Tallwood HS band director and they hosted the Tallwood Invitational yesterday.

Lindsey sent these photos she took yesterday during the competition, and she remarked on how GREAT our kids did! She said their show was incredible and no one could get over the journey they made to get there and how well they performed, after such a trip! ⛴️ 🚌 ⛴️

For perspective; Lindsey was a Marching Camden Bruin 🐻and ODU Marching Monarch, Tim was a Marching JMU Duke 🤴and they both judge bands professionally so they know a good band when they see one!

Two hours 10 minutes- We’re back on Hatteras!

It’s a beautiful day and we are headed home! NC Ferry workers deserve a big BIG shoutout. They admitted, the first couple of days were rough, but everything is working great now. Pulling out at 11am on the dot!!

We got in line at Stumpy 9:30am and we were car no. 4. They checked permits and matched our ids and Mr Kelly told a few dad jokes. Easy Peasy.

Our Sunday crossing is not even full, with 18 cars. Ferry workers shared that weekends can be easier because there are fewer commercial vehicles to load in and cars are smaller.

Shout out to the ladies from Nelys Cleaning Service who were first in line!

Gemma’s first ferry ride seems good so far, too!
