Redefining Bespoke Custom Home Construction Since 1999

Stone Acorn Builders is a family-owned luxury custom homebuilder founded in 1999 by Benjamin Lavine and Sarah Lavine Kass. What began as a shared passion for craftsmanship and timeless design has evolved into one of Texas’s most respected boutique building firms. After graduating from Southern Methodist University and beginning his career in management consulting, Benjamin joined Sarah to help grow Stone Acorn Builders into the quality-driven company it is today. As both a Certified Graduate Builder and Graduate Master Builder, Benjamin has achieved the highest levels of technical mastery in the industry, an expertise reflected in every home the company creates. His blend of precision, innovation, and genuine client engagement has set the tone for a building experience that is both highly professional and deeply personal. In 2010, Stone Acorn Builders was honored to join the prestigious Southern Living Custom Builder Program, a select network of builders recognized for their commitment to craftsmanship, architectural integrity, and the highest building standards. Since then, the firm has proudly completed three official Southern Living Showcase Houses, each reflecting the timeless charm and design excellence that the Southern Living brand represents. These showcase homes have allowed Stone Acorn Builders to share its passion for livable luxury with a wider audience, inspiring countless homeowners through meticulous attention to detail, authentic materials, and a dedication to creating homes that are both elegant and welcoming. Over the past two decades, Stone Acorn Builders has expanded its presence throughout Texas, now focusing primarily on projects in Austin and Dallas. With every custom home, the firm continues to set new standards for architectural excellence, design innovation, and construction integrity. At its core, Stone Acorn Builders remains guided by the same principles that have defined it since its founding: communication, design, and quality construction. These values ensure that each home not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the discerning clients it serves, standing as a true reflection of craftsmanship, collaboration, and enduring beauty.

Stone Acorn Builders is so excited to be participating in this year’s Devonshire Wild West Chili Fest!

We’re about to start building at 8906 Inwood, and we are excited to become good friends of a neighborhood we’re so grateful to become part of. We can’t wait to meet our future neighbors!

We are especially proud to be sponsoring the bouncy house. Don’t worry, our houses come with piers and beams, not an air pump!

Quiet luxury, rendered in stone. This bath trades ornament for material honesty with veined marble tile, sculptural fixtures, and a palette that lets the architecture breathe.

The kitchen finds its character in restraint: a quiet interplay of proportion, light, and warmth. Every element is considered, yet the room retains an ease that invites everyday life.

Every detail is intentional.
