Landscape Theory Studio Transforming outdoor spaces into enduring landscapes of beauty and purpose – Austin, TX

With deep plant knowledge, precise craftsmanship, and a collaborative spirit, we create environments that thrive in Austin’s unique climate. That commitment begins below the surface — with organic practices that nourish the soil and support long-term vitality. Each material is chosen for its impact: organic foliar sprays and root drenches to strengthen underground systems, slow-release fertilizers for sustainable nourishment, and compost-rich beds finished with hardwood mulch to feed the soil and support biodiversity. Together, we shape spaces that inspire, connect, and grow stronger over time.

A little drama belongs in the design. 🎃

Sculptural plants, layered textures and thoughtfully placed lighting create outdoor spaces with atmosphere, on Halloween and every evening after.

Our Landscape Theory Studio team is celebrating in costume today, but thoughtful design is always our focus.

Ready to see your outdoor space in a new light? Message us to schedule a landscape design consultation.

Corten steel is one of our favorite classic Austin design elements. This planter brings color, structure, and interest to the landscape, and as the steel weathers into a warm patina, it keeps evolving over time.

We feed plants with organic fertilizers only. Foliar sprays and liquid root drenches strengthen root systems throughout the year, and slow-release granular fertilizers in spring and fall feed plants at a pace they respond to, building lasting health from the ground up.

Our crew is pouring custom concrete pavers on-site, each one formed and leveled by hand to create a clean, staggered path leading out from the house, with steel edging setting the structure of the space.

Stay tuned to see how it all comes together!

The best landscapes include a place to pause. Designing a quiet corner means thinking about enclosure, texture, and light. Screening that creates privacy, permeable surfaces that stay low maintenance, and plantings that soften the edges.

Our crew is leveling a trench drain along this home’s foundation to move water away from the home fast. We know how Austin’s clay, limestone, and slopes handle water, so every drainage plan is built for the site.

Seeing pooling or erosion around your property? Now’s the time to fix it, before the storms roll in. Head to the link in our bio to get started.

Thoughtful design can start a beautiful landscape, but consistent maintenance keeps it looking this good. For this client, regular care keeps the perennials full, the steel planter beds thriving, and the lawn lush through the height of Austin’s hot summer and unpredictable fall.

Meet TJ Beasley 👋🌿

If you’re beginning a conversation with Landscape Theory Studio, there’s a good chance TJ will be one of the first people you meet.

As LTS’s Client Manager and Business Developer, TJ spends much of his time doing exactly what his title suggests: building relationships.

He meets with prospective clients, joins consultations alongside our Lead Landscape Designer, Heidi, and helps create the connection between what a client envisions and the team that will ultimately bring that vision to life.

But good client relationships aren’t built from a script.

They’re built by listening. Asking the right questions. Understanding what matters to someone. Communicating well. And making sure people feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.

That’s a big part of TJ’s role at LTS.

And because we believe you should know the people behind the company, we asked him a few questions that have absolutely nothing to do with landscape design. 😄

TJ brings a fun, energetic personality to the team, along with an athletic side and a commitment to health and taking care of himself. We’ll let him tell you the rest.

We’re excited for you to meet another one of the humans behind Landscape Theory Studio.

Because great landscapes begin with great design, but a great experience begins with people.
