Thinking About Marble for Your Kitchen or Bathroom? Read This First!

Marble is absolutely beautiful, and I love incorporating natural stone into my designs. But before choosing marble for your kitchen countertops or bathroom vanity, there are a few things you should know.

Marble is a porous, calcium-based natural stone. It can absorb liquids, stain, scratch, and develop dull spots when exposed to acidic substances such as lemon juice, vinegar, and certain cleaning products.

Maintenance is important!

Depending on the type of marble and the sealer used, you may need to reseal your surfaces every 3 to 6 months. Some professional-grade sealers last considerably longer, so always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.

And here’s something many homeowners don’t realize: traditional stone sealers help protect against staining, but they do NOT prevent acid etching.

There is another option worth considering: MORE AntiEtch, a professional surface treatment designed to protect marble against staining and etching, with a lifetime limited warranty.

The downside? It is an investment, typically around $100–$150 per square foot installed.

Would I still recommend marble? Absolutely, for the right client. But I believe homeowners should understand the maintenance, cost, and long-term expectations before investing in a beautiful natural stone surface.

RENOVATION PROGRESS | PART 2 OF 3 🏡

The new kitchen is taking shape, and the layout is already making a difference!

In this Evans, GA, renovation, we completely rethought the appliance placement to improve accessibility and workflow.

We relocated the refrigerator for easier access from different areas of the house, moved the gas cooktop off the island, and introduced a dedicated cooking wall with a statement hood.

With ceilings reaching almost 10 feet, we’re extending the cabinetry all the way up to maximize storage and draw the eye upward.

Every detail has been considered, including the dishwasher placement, nearby silverware storage, and a convenient trash pullout beside the sink.

These decisions make everyday tasks easier and create a kitchen that feels more spacious, organized, and intentional.

RENOVATION PROGRESS | PART 1 OF 3 🏡

From a formal dining room to a flexible, functional living space!

This renovation in Evans, GA, is all about making better use of the existing square footage.

We’re transforming an underutilized dining room into a versatile flex room that can adapt to the homeowners’ needs. We’re also updating the fireplace to create a more cohesive architectural feature.

The goal is to improve how the home functions while maintaining a consistent design throughout.
