Just because your bed fits against a wall doesn’t mean that’s the best place for it!

When deciding where to position your bed, consider what you see when you first enter the room, where your closet and bathroom entrances are located, and whether you have enough walking space around your furniture.

The longest wall isn’t always the best wall! A good bedroom layout should be functional, balanced, and visually appealing.

Sometimes simply rearranging your furniture can completely transform your bedroom!

Wire shelves are functional, but they’re not always the prettiest! 😅 I added shelf covers to my daughter’s closet, and such a simple upgrade made a big difference!
Now she has a smoother, more polished surface, and smaller items won’t tip over or fall through the gaps.
You don’t always have to replace what you have. Sometimes you just need to improve it!

Just because your furniture has space doesn’t mean you need to fill it!

One of the biggest decorating mistakes I see is using too many small accessories that don’t complement the scale of the furniture.

Whether you’re decorating a nightstand, dresser, or end table, remember:

✔️ Choose fewer, larger accessories.
✔️ Vary the heights of your decor.
✔️ Make sure your lamps and artwork are proportionate to your furniture.
✔️ Leave some empty space.

The goal isn’t to see how much you can fit. It’s to create a space that looks balanced, intentional, and beautiful!

I’m not just a professional organizer. I’m also a professional decorator AND a military spouse who has moved over a dozen times.

I understand that an organized home isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Whether you’re a military family moving every few years, a busy professional who’s rarely home, or someone who spends most of their day at home, your organizing systems should fit YOUR lifestyle.

I consider aesthetics, functionality, storage, furniture, portability, and how easy everything will be to maintain.

Because I don’t just want your home to look organized. I want it to function beautifully for the way you live!

Living with someone who refuses to get rid of anything? 😅

My dad was a hoarder, and my mom was an award-winning interior designer. So trust me, I grew up seeing two VERY different relationships with belongings!

When you share a home with someone who constantly accumulates things, organizing isn’t always as simple as getting rid of clutter.

You can’t force someone to let go of their belongings, but you CAN establish boundaries, communicate expectations, and work toward creating a functional home for everyone.

And remember, there’s a difference between having too much stuff and struggling with hoarding disorder.

💬 Have you ever lived with someone who refuses to get rid of anything? How did you handle it?

Yes, you might actually use everything you own. But that doesn’t mean you need everything you own.

I’m guilty of it too! 😂

Decluttering isn’t always about getting rid of things you never use. Sometimes it’s about realizing how much you can comfortably live without.

You don’t have to get rid of everything. But you also don’t have to keep everything just because you use it.

Mail is one of those things that can pile up before you even realize it!

The key is having a system. Sort it as soon as it comes in, immediately toss the junk, separate anything that needs action, and give important documents a designated home.

And remember, organizing isn’t just about making things look pretty. It’s about creating a system that’s easy to maintain.

The goal isn’t to organize your piles of mail. It’s to stop creating them. 📬

What do you do when you KNOW you have too many clothes, but you can’t bring yourself to get rid of them?

Today, my client started with over 300 tops. After our first round of decluttering, she was down to 250, but she wasn’t ready to let go of anything else.

So we tried something different.

I told her to pretend she was packing for a three-month trip and could only bring 100 pieces. Which ones would she choose?

We started grouping similar items together, like all her white shirts, so she could compare them side by side and choose her favorites.

And here’s the important part: She didn’t have to get rid of the others.

Instead, we could temporarily store them somewhere else so she could experience what her closet feels like with only the clothes she loves and actually needs.

Sometimes the hardest part of decluttering is the thought of losing something. Taking away that pressure makes the decision easier.

You don’t always have to start by getting rid of things. Sometimes you just need to see what life looks like without them.

Would you try this with your closet?
