At Timber + Thread, we help you create spaces that feel beautiful, personal and easy to live in.

Our in-home consultations look at how you use your rooms, how your furniture fits and where a little reshuffling could make a big difference. We love “shopping your home”—rediscovering treasures, moving pieces between rooms and seeing those old goodies in a new light. A favourite chair recovered in a beautiful fabric can start a whole new chapter.

We’ll also help you choose what’s missing, whether that’s a piece of furniture that makes the layout work, a rug to bring everything together, or fresh throws and cushions to add colour, texture and new life.

With summer on its way, it’s a lovely time to brighten things up and give your outdoor area some attention too. Thoughtful furniture placement and comfortable seating can make it easier to entertain, relax and enjoy those long, warm evenings.

A little piece of India has arrived in the studio… and we’re completely smitten. 🤎

Our collection of beautiful Indian antiques is here, full of timeworn charm, lovely details and the character that comes from a life already lived.

Of course, we wish we’d been the ones wandering through markets, discovering these treasures and getting wonderfully distracted by all those incredible textiles… maybe one day.

For now, we’re very happy to be surrounded by these beautiful old souls, ready for their next chapter. Come in and fall a little in love.

Everyone likes a new outfit… even the furniture. 🤍

Charlotte’s talking all things upholstery, from our wingback chair in her beautiful green stripe to our Queen Anne footstools in duck egg stripes, and our tiny skirted lady ottoman wearing the sweetest beige check.

Reupholstering is a lovely way to give an old piece a fresh chapter, keeping the character you love while bringing something new into your home.

Go bold with a generous pattern or a joyful colour, or choose a timeless check or stripe. There’s room for tartans, beautiful embroidered fabrics and a little unexpected detail, too.

Choosing fabric for custom furniture and soft furnishings is where the fun begins—but a little thought goes a long way.

For those bigger investment pieces, choose fabrics you’ll love for years to come, with the durability to match. Cushions, throws and smaller ottomans? That’s where you can be a little more playful.

Try one pattern, one stripe and one texture, with a thread of colour tying them together. They don’t need to be sisters… it’s perfectly fine for them to be cousins.

A little storybook whimsy, beautiful timber details, and her new “shoes” taking centre stage. 🤎 In a room filled with beautiful antiques, art collected over time in rich mahogany and gilded frames, and a touch of whimsy in every corner, sat a modern sofa.

Her design was beautiful, her fabric classic and comfortable… but she looked as though she’d arrived at the ball in her sneakers.

All she needed to fit perfectly was a change of shoes.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that bring the whole room together. 🤎

It’s all about the details…

When we look around a home, we look from top to bottom, imagining the beautiful little moments we can create.

Behind so many of those moments are talented craftspeople who help bring our ideas to life. This morning, we got to spend time with one of them, watching these beautiful pieces of art take shape.

The curves, the grain of the oak, the contrast of dark and light… there’s so much to love. Pieces like these bring different timber tones together, helping a room full of collected furniture feel beautifully connected.

Three months in… and she’s had a little makeover. 🤎

Today marks three months since we first put everything together in the studio, ready to open our doors on the 1st of July.

And because change is as good as a holiday, we thought our three-month anniversary was the perfect excuse for a refresh.

Two and a half hours of art down, mirrors down, furniture shuffled and pottery shelves moved… and suddenly she feels like a whole new space.

We’ve added a fabric rack and a beautiful new/old design table — giving us somewhere to spread out, work our magic and keep our favourite fabrics, rugs and wallpapers right at arm’s reach.

Because Timber + Thread was always meant to be more than a store.

It’s a working design studio, but it’s also a place to be inspired — to touch the fabrics, play with pattern, layer colours and see ideas begin to take shape.

Three months down, and our little studio is evolving right along with us.

Collected slowly. Designed intentionally. 🤎

Fridays are for fabric… 🤎

Wandering through the archives of beautiful Clarke & Clarke, catching up with an old friend from a past life, and getting completely lost amongst pattern, colour and cloth.

So full of life. So full of colour. And somehow still carrying that beautiful whimsy of yesteryear — the kind of prints that feel nostalgic, yet completely at home in the here and now.

Villa Textiles never disappoints.

We’ve come away with our heads full of ideas, our creative cups overflowing, and feeling completely inspired after an afternoon surrounded by so much beauty.

There really is something magical about fabric… the way it can transform a chair, soften a room, tell a story and bring an entire scheme to life.

Now to decide which ones we simply have to use… 🌿
