As we head into the busiest stretch of the retail year, from Black Friday sales through to the pre Christmas rush, you’ll start to notice more of our retail officers across stores nationwide.

Our retail security team supports hundreds of stores across New Zealand for some of the country’s biggest retailers. During peak trading periods, that presence lifts significantly.

Say hi if you see one of our team out there, they are always happy to help!

If you’ve been through any of the Wellington City Council facilities, there’s a good chance you’ve crossed paths with one of our awesome Wellington security officers!

Our team have been Wellington City Council’s trusted security partner for many years, our officers work alongside Council staff as familiar faces who have earned the trust of the people around them.

That same familiarity has carried out into the wider Wellington community too, where our team has become a recognised and welcome presence across the city.

We’re really proud of the team that represent this partnership to such high standards!

Moments like these are where the difference between a security officer and a great one really shows.

During a recent night shift, Craig one of our Health NZ – West Coast Security Officers was called on when an individual approached the unit asking to be let in. Craig recognised the individual immediately from previous security concerns, kept the team safe, stayed with them while the situation was managed and continued to check on them throughout the rest of the night.

Craig's actions on that shift made a real difference to the team on the floor, and the staff on that unit felt safer because of him. Craig, this one speaks for itself! Fantasic work.

Not long now until the hats come out and Canterbury kicks into Cup and Show Week!

For most Cantabrians, it's one of the most anticipated weeks of the year. For our events team, it's one of the busiest.

Months of planning, mapping out every scenario, briefing our teams and getting the operation primed to deliver one of the biggest events on the Christchurch’s social calendar.

If you’re looking to be part of the action this year, we’re hiring casual event security officers for Cup & Show week + wider Canterbury events. Send your CV to [email protected]

Great news out of Canterbury -we have officially extended our partnerships with both Synlait and University of Canterbury.

Both renewals followed extensive RFP processes, which makes them a particularly rewarding outcome for our team. Canterbury is one of our largest regional operations across New Zealand, and being chosen again by two of the region's most significant organisations is a strong reflection of the work our Canterbury team continues to deliver!

A big thank you to Synlait and University of Canterbury for the continued trust. We are looking forward to the next chapter!

A really special piece of recognition landed with us this week, we have been proudly acknowledged by the Minister of Social Development and Employment, Hon Louise Upston for our commitment to hiring from our local community in partnership with Ministry of Social Development NZ.

For us, this one means a lot. We've worked alongside MSD for many years to connect job seekers with work opportunities and build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

As the Minister mentioned, work provides so much more than a pay cheque. For many people, a job can be life changing. Being part of that story is a privilege, and something we will proudly continue doing!

A huge thank you to the MSD team we partner with every day, and to the Minister for taking the time to acknowledge the work being done.

Officially one year into the Auckland Council Noise Control and the numbers behind that first year tell a pretty remarkable story about how much work is going on behind the scenes to keep Auckland quiet (and safe) after hours!

Right across the region, our team is on call 24/7. North, Central and South. A fleet of vehicles on the move around the clock, officers deployed every week, complaints responded to in minutes rather than hours.

With summer around the corner, the pace is already picking up. The data from the last 12 months points to real growth in demand year on year, and we're preparing for one of the busiest stretches on the calendar!

A lot of work goes into an operation of this scale and we’re very proud of the efforts from our frontline and back end teams who keep it all moving.

We welcome Mike Robinson to our tech division as our new Wellington Tech Manager!

Mike has an impressive 20+ years of experience covering nearly every corner of the security industry. He's worked in installation, system design, project management, branch operations and account management.

He understands what makes a system easy to install, what makes it hard to maintain AND what clients actually need from it five years down the track!

Across his career, Mike has led work at some of Wellington's most significant sites, including Hutt Valley Hospital, Victoria University, the Department of Internal Affairs, Hutt City Council, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Weta Workshop.

Mike takes real pride in getting the details right for our valued clients & brings an honest customer first approach to designing security systems that fit your business rather than the other way round. He'll understand your operations and tailor a package built around what your home or business actually needs.

We’re pleased to have you on board, Mike. If you’re a Wellington local looking for a discussion around your current setup or upgrades - give Mike a bell on [email protected]

Most Kiwis know how to secure their home. Alarm, CCTV, maybe a Ring doorbell. The basics are familiar because home security has become part of daily life.

But ask the average Kiwi business owner how they'd rate their commercial security setup and the answer is usually a shrug!

The last review was at some point. For most, commercial security has never been something they've had to think about properly. Until something happens.

That gap in knowledge is becoming a real problem, and the numbers back it up. Commercial break ins across New Zealand have risen sharply over the last two years, with small to mid sized businesses taking the brunt of it.

Business owners who've grown up thinking about security the residential way tend to:

→ Over invest in cameras and under invest in prevention
→ Treat alarms as a solution rather than an alert
→ Assume insurance will cover whatever happens
→ Underestimate the operational impact of a break in
→ Overlook the hours they're most exposed

The security sector itself has a role to play too. It has historically been built around selling products and shifts. We are spending more and more time educating business owners on what good security looks like, and helping close the knowledge gap in a way that actually makes a difference.

If your commercial security setup hasn't been properly reviewed in the last 12 months, let’s have a chat! [email protected]

Marie and Porshia recently on site at the University of Otago's Christchurch campus, providing security for the official opening of the university's new health research and education building, a significant occasion for the future of medical training in the region!

Marie (left) has been with us for over 10 years, and is a familiar face at the School of Medicine Events. Marie is a warm & respected presence on site and someone the University has come to know and count on over the years.

Porshia (right) is one of the newest members of our team, just over a month in and already proving she’s a natural fit in security.

Thank you to the University of Otago for a memorable day!
