If a quilt took a month to make in Jaipur - stitched by women in a village outside the city - confining it to a space you only see for eight hours while you are asleep seems like a waste.
Five places a DAC quilt can actually belong, beyond the bedroom:
On the wall - the underprint surface holds attention the way a print or canvas rarely does. A wooden dowel, a fabric sleeve, two wall brackets.
Over a sofa arm - thrown casually, not arranged. The kantha stitching gives it enough structure to hold the drape.
In a reading corner - a half quilt over the back of a chair. There when you need it, decorative when you do not.
As a guest room statement - folded across the end of the bed. Guests always ask about it.
Down the centre of a dining table - a quilt runner. Far more interesting than anything sold specifically as a table runner.
