From construction to completion. Well, almost.

It’s always exciting to see a design start to take shape on site.

This contemporary extension combines warm, textured brickwork with generous glazing and strong, simple architectural lines.

The aim is to create light-filled living spaces that connect naturally with the garden, while giving the existing house a completely new lease of life.

Swipe to see how we’re imagining the finished result.

Who says hallways have to be boring?

Apartment hallways are notoriously short on natural light, but that doesn’t mean they have to be short on personality.

We decided to embrace colour in this one, choosing a warm, earthy pink for the doors, skirtings and architraves , balanced with natural oak and beautifully textured walls.

Because coming home should make you smile. And why shouldn’t that feeling start the minute you open the front door?

Quietly interesting.

A neutral palette doesn’t have to mean a lack of personality. In this dining space, it’s the mix of textures, natural materials and subtle sculptural details that brings everything together.

We chose a collection of ceramic wall sculptures in place of traditional artwork, adding another layer of texture and interest while keeping the overall feel calm and restful.

Sometimes it’s the quieter details that make a room.

A little blue goes a long way. 💙

A soft, muted blue brings a lovely sense of calm to the living room in our recently completed show house at The Glen, Cabinteely, for Park Developments.

Carrying the same colour through to the hallway, staircase and joinery creates a sense of connection between the spaces.

A lovely example of how colour can bring a home together.

The trick to designing a home for someone you’ve never met?

Make it feel personal, without making it too personal.

When designing a show apartment, the challenge is to create a space that appeals to a wide range of potential buyers, while still feeling like somewhere you’d genuinely want to live.

For our recently completed show apartment in Sandymount, we started with a soft, neutral palette and layered in natural textures, bespoke joinery and carefully chosen details to give the space warmth and character.

Little details, like these burgundy cabinet k***s, help give the apartment its own personality.

Because the best show apartments don’t just look beautiful. They make you imagine living there.

Sometimes the smallest design decisions make the biggest difference.

This rooflight sits beside a lift shaft in a home we designed. It could simply have been left as it was, bringing daylight into the stairwell.

Instead, we designed a bespoke patterned metal screen to sit over it. As the light moves throughout the day, the pattern casts changing shadows across the walls below, turning something purely functional into something quite special.

It’s a small detail in the context of an entire house, but these are often the details that give a home its character.

A little preview of something we’ve been working on.

The finishing touches went into this stunning apartment this week, with a palette of oak, soft neutrals, deep burgundy and touches of mineral blue, layered with pattern and texture.

More to come soon.

Show homes have a difficult job to do.

They need enough personality to feel like a real home, but not so much that you can’t imagine making the space your own.

A little glimpse of one we’re currently fitting out.

But that doesn’t mean they have to be bland, neutral or play it safe.

For this one, we’ve used soft blue-greys throughout, with deeper blues, warm whites and plenty of texture to give it its own character.

These snaps are a little glimpse of how this room is coming together. Can’t wait to share it once it’s finished .

Does your home smell as good as it looks?

Denise’s latest piece for The Irish Times looks at something we don’t always think about when it comes to our homes — how they smell.

From nose blindness and pet smells to ventilation, cleaning products and home fragrance, Denise shares a few simple ways to make sure your home smells as good as it looks.

We’ll share the online link when it’s available.

The secret to a really chic interior?

Borrow a trick from fashion and add one thing that’s a little unexpected.

Just as an unexpected scarf, bag or piece of jewellery can transform an outfit, one surprising choice can completely change the feel of a room.

Here, it was colour.

Earthware is from Mood, the paint collection Denise developed with Alchemist . A warm, dusty , earthy shade that adds just enough of the unexpected to make the whole scheme feel more considered.
