We believe in the art of fine floors, in helping you create a beautiful home by sharing over 100 years of knowledge and experience.

The hallway is the first impression of any home, and in older houses it's often where the most character lives. Original spindles, a curved banister or a tall ceiling are all worth celebrating, and the right flooring choices can make them look their best.

This look starts with warm oak underfoot, a timeless base that brings warmth and a sense of history. A patterned runner takes the stairs from functional to beautiful, adding colour and softness, while brass rods give it a classic finish that catches the light.

Then come the details. A vintage-style mirror brightens the space and adds a touch of old-world elegance, and turned-wood features tie it back to the home's heritage.

The result is a hallway that feels welcoming, characterful and completely current.

Myth vs fact: wool carpet edition.

"Isn't wool hard to look after?" It's one of the questions we're asked most, and the answer is no.

Wool is naturally resilient. Its fibres bounce back from everyday wear and resist stains better than most people expect, so it keeps its good looks for years. A regular hoover and blotting spills quickly is really all it needs.

If you've been put off wool because of its reputation, call in and see our range. We'll talk you through which wool carpet suits your home and how you'll use the room.

Enjoy the long weekend, everyone!

Just a reminder that we're closed on Monday 26 October for the October Bank Holiday. We'll be back on Tuesday as usual, so call in or give us a ring then.

If you're spending the weekend dreaming up a new room, we'd love to hear about it next week.

This is the difference a stair runner makes. Fitted up the centre of the stairs, a runner adds colour and personality while the timber on either side frames it beautifully. It also gives better grip, softens footsteps and protects the treads from everyday wear.

The secret to a great runner is in the details: a pattern that suits your hallway, the right width so the wood shows on either side, a hard-wearing carpet, and a neat finish with stair rods if you love a classic look.

If your stairs are ready for a refresh, call in to us and we'll help you find the right runner for your home.

What's actually trending in Irish homes this month?

As flooring specialists, we get a front-row seat to how Irish homes are changing, and this autumn the shift is clear: people want warmth and character.

Cool greys and beiges are giving way to burgundy, caramel, olive and butter yellow. Underfoot, walnut and deep oak are replacing the pale Scandi floors that dominated the last few years. Staircases are getting their moment too, with patterned runners and accent steps turning them into a real feature.

We're also seeing more homes embrace modern heritage, mixing Irish craft and period detail with contemporary comfort. And in open-plan spaces, layered rugs are a clever way to define areas while adding texture and softness.

Flick through for our full October edit. Which one are you trying first?
