We were called out to a customer struggling to lock their door. On inspection, we discovered the internal components of the centre case had collapsed.

We replaced the faulty centre case, rebuilt the locking system and adjusted the door to ensure everything was correctly aligned ✅

This resulted in a smoothly operating door and another happy customer! 🙌

We attended a customer who was unable to remove their key from a jammed UPVC door. After gaining entry and extracting the key, we discovered the locking mechanism had failed and was obsolete.

Rather than replacing the entire mechanism, we stripped it down and carried out a repair, getting everything back in full working order ✅

Another successful repair saving our customer money and avoiding the expense of a complete locking system or even a new door.

One happy customer and another tricky job sorted! 🙌

Following an emergency entry by the emergency services, we were called out to help repair a customer’s damaged door.

On inspection, we discovered that several of the damaged components were obsolete and no longer in production, making this a much trickier repair than usual.

Our customer asked us to do everything we could to save the existing door, so we got to work 👍🏻

✅ We stripped down the locking mechanism and carefully straightened the components that had been forced out of shape when the door was prised open. Thankfully, we managed to repair the mechanism!

✅ The euro cylinder had been damaged beyond repair, so we replaced it with a new one.

✅ The handles had also taken a beating, and with the original parts no longer available, we sourced a suitable replacement set and adapted the door to allow them to be fitted.

Despite the challenges and discontinued parts, we got everything back together and working better than it had before!

Another tricky job successfully completed, an existing door saved from unnecessary replacement, and a very happy customer. 🙌

At Longs Locks, we always aim to find a solution, even when the parts are no longer available!

We were recently called out by another local business after they found themselves locked out of a caravan with the keys still inside. To make matters worse, the door handle had also failed!

We attended swiftly and gained entry non-destructively, getting them back inside without causing damage ✅

We then stripped down the handle and locking mechanism to identify the fault, carried out an on-site repair and got everything working as it should again.

Another problem solved and another happy customer! 🙌

A big thank you to Hazel Grove Caravan Storage Ltd for calling on us.

I had the privilege of meeting Lucy yesterday morning as she set out on day 5, of her 250 mile run from Newcastle to Leicester. Such an inspiration and in aid of raising awareness for a remarkable cause. Let’s get behind Lucy and show her support. I wish her all the very best on this extremely tough challenge. Keep going 👊❤️
