It’s all in the details…🤍

Accessories are so much more than finishing touches. They’re what bring personality, warmth and character to an interior.

From carefully selected vases, decorative objects and artwork to books, candles, cushions and those little statement pieces, every item has a place and a purpose.

When I’m styling a client’s home, I’m considering colour, texture, scale, proportion and how each accessory complements the wider design scheme.

I love to create layers, introduce interest and make sure everything feels connected without overcrowding the space.

You don’t need to fill every surface or accessorise every corner. Sometimes one beautifully chosen piece makes more of a statement than ten random additions.

From bare bones to beautifully finished… Project Peacock. 🤍 🖤

A full home renovation, a clear client brief and a tight deadline. The challenge? To create a sophisticated, luxurious interior built around monochrome, clean lines and timeless design.

A beautiful home doesn’t happen by simply choosing lovely things.

It starts with a vision.

From establishing the colour palette of soft beiges, warm neutrals, cashmere and contrasting blacks, to selecting furniture, lighting, finishes and accessories, every decision was carefully considered to ensure the entire home flowed effortlessly from room to room.

Natural light played an important role in the design, with lighter tones creating a sense of openness and space, while darker accents introduced depth, definition and understated drama.

Then comes the detail — coordinating the selections, bringing the scheme together and adding those final finishing touches that transform a house into a home.

This is what I love about interior design - taking a client’s vision, developing a considered concept and seeing it come to life in a space that feels cohesive, functional and beautifully finished. Plus you do know I love the styling day!

Every interior I design begins with a carefully curated concept, giving my clients a clear vision of the proposed scheme, from colour palettes and finishes to furniture, lighting and styling.

A little glimpse into some work in progress The Machrihanish Golf Club - my new favourite thing…fluted shower screens! No more water marks to be seen. 🤍 Oh and how about this stunning walnut fluted vanity sink? Love it!

Colour palette inspired by the bay that you overlook from what will be the new 1890 Lodge at Machrihanish Golf Club. With four ensuite bedrooms, this will be the ideal place to stay after a round of golf!

There is nothing quite like a trip to my clients to lift the soul.

Great visit onsite to what is to become the new ‘1890 Lodge’ a luxurious short term rental property that will welcome golfers and visitors from near and far.

Only a short plane ride from Glasgow, boasts ‘The Best Opening Hole in the World’ and thanks to Mike the Club Captain, my visit included a full tour of their magnificent course yesterday.

Onto design business, my onsite visit was such a pleasure - the workmanship from the team at McKinven & Colville Ltd is meticulous. The four en-suites are nearing completion, final wall decorating taking place, flooring pending and soon all of my deliveries for the interior will be arriving onsite. So exciting!!

Thanks as always to Mike and Malcolm, as well as the team at Machrihanish Golf Club, there’s really no other welcome like it 🙏🏻🤍

The finishing touches might look effortless… but they certainly don’t happen by accident.

From selecting the perfect lamps and placing candles, to styling a sideboard and creating a beautifully considered dining space, every detail has a purpose.

As an interior designer, I create the vision from the very beginning and then bring that vision to life — carefully planning the furniture, lighting, accessories, textures and styling so that everything works together as one cohesive scheme.

It’s not simply about filling a room with beautiful things. It’s about knowing what to choose, where to place it and importantly, when to stop.

These little details are what take a room from finished to complete.

My clients don’t just receive a design — they receive a plan, a fully considered scheme and ultimately, a space that is ready to enjoy.

And yes… I do love a beautifully styled sideboard!

It’s amazing what the right rug can do for a space…

A rug isn’t just a finishing touch, it can define a space, add warmth, introduce texture and colour and bring individual pieces of furniture together to create a cohesive interior.

I love using rugs as a way of adding another layer to a scheme, whether that’s through subtle texture and neutral tones or a bolder pattern that becomes a feature in its own right.

In my client’s house, the Nkuku glass table was a deliberate choice. When space and natural light are important considerations, glass can create a wonderful sense of airiness, allowing the rug and surrounding furniture to remain visible without adding visual weight.

It’s often the combination of these seemingly simple choices that makes a room feel balanced, considered and effortlessly finished.

I always think great interior design is all in the layers. 🤍
