Well, that’s a turnup for the books. Two days this week when the weather was suitable for mowing. Lush thick grass mowing was the order of the day.

Managed to catch up with some mowing today. The grass had really grown thick and long with the recent rain and mild temperatures and I hadn’t been out for two weeks. Not the best of finishes but with colder weather approaching it may be the last mow of the year.

On Sunday Mrs Lawn Ranger was working as an extra.
So, the Lawn Ranger drove her to the filming site.
Now, what did I do during the day to fill my time in.
A visit to the Manchester Transport Museum in Cheetham Hill and a visit to the East Lancs Railway at Bury.
Oh and the small matter of sitting in a pub watching Brian Brobbey score a hat trick for Sunderland against Man City, whilst I was surrounded by Man City supporters

It was George Washington that chopped down a cherry tree.
I cannot tell a lie, I chopped down an apple tree yesterday for a lovely lady that wanted her view improving.

Couldn’t resist a little light topiary in the Venus Garden at Windsor Castle this afternoon with Mrs Lawn Ranger.

I was out on tractors mowing lawns and paddocks yesterday.
It was very dusty in places as expected with all the dry weather we have had.
A few days off next week to visit London to see the new musical “Sinatra”

In between showers I managed to bring a leylandii hedge under control, mow grass, tidy hedges.

What does 120 metres of 2 metre high hedging look like?
A lot better after the Lawn Ranger had spent a few hours trimming it

Yesterday I took Arthur to Old Trafford cricket ground.
The Lawn Ranger’s visit was to check out the grass. Arthur wanted to watch the cricket.
Unfortunately the Manchester Super Giants Womens and Men’s teams lost their games, but we had a cracking good day.

Quite the Renaissance man at the moment.
Jam making Sunday
Tractor repairing Monday
Paddock mowing Tuesday
Car repairing Wednesday.
All in a days work

EDIT.
do not try to pour 5 litres of used engine oil into a 5 litre container without creating a bund to stop spillage from spreading, oh, and also don’t block the funnel with the lid off the container. Waste oil spreads over the carpeted garage floor like the Black Death☠️
