Jenny Lind’s successor arrives in blue.
Following the end of our oldest machine’s working life, a modern replacement has joined the stoneCIRCLE workshop: a similar polisher with the latest technology, continuing the essential stone-finishing role.
The photographs capture its arrival, from the yard to the factory floor, with its polishing head still protected for transport.
It is another chapter in the relationship between our people, their tools and the stone they work with.
Thank you, Jenny Lind. The craft continues.

Some workshop changes carry more history than others.
After more than 50 years of service, our Jenny Lind polisher had reached the end of her working life.
Before she could leave, we had one practical job to complete: releasing the fixings, preparing the lift, and moving a substantial piece of machinery out of the factory.
These photographs follow that work, from hands at the base of the machine to Jenny Lind suspended above the yard.
A farewell to a familiar part of stoneCIRCLE, and space for the next chapter.
In our next post: her successor arrives.

What tells us the work is finished?
The shape matters. So do the edges, the surfaces and how the details are defined.
At stoneCIRCLE, our masons handle final finishing and quality control, refining, checking, and deciding when the work meets the required standard.
Technology delivers repeatability. Craftsmanship allows us to judge when the work is finished.

Technology delivers repeatability. Craftsmanship decides when the work is finished.
At stoneCIRCLE, CNC machining shapes the geometry: curves, recesses and profiles cut into the stone.
Our masons then refine the details by hand, applying experienced judgement to the edges and surfaces.
Our blend of old and new, evident on the workshop floor.

Book-matching brings a mirrored rhythm to natural stone.
Its success depends on the selected slabs and their arrangement. Natural differences remain, so review the actual pair rather than judging the result from a digitally mirrored image alone.
For architects and interior designers, the centre of the composition matters as much as the pattern itself. Consider its relationship to the room, the principal sightline and any openings.
Bring stoneCIRCLE into the conversation early to explore the possibilities for your project.

The quiet corner of a slab and its most expressive vein can tell very different stories.
A natural stone sample helps you explore colour, texture and finish. Reviewing the full slab shows how those qualities unfold across the surface.
For a vanity unit, feature wall, bar or reception desk, that wider view matters. It helps you choose where the movement belongs and how much visual emphasis the stone should carry.
Begin with the sample. Develop the design with the slab.

Dark surfaces, pale porcelain and warm metal details create a more dramatic identity in this bathroom at Westbourne Grove.

The success of a mixed-material interior lies in how each finish meets the next. stoneCIRCLE’s porcelain installation was coordinated with the room’s glazing, fittings, sanitaryware and contrasting feature elements.
