The wind gusts are always a concern when getting the the pieces to fall in desired landing spot. This maple required a little patience to get the tops down correctly but by days end all 20 meters were horizontal. Praise the Lord.

Just a 3 picture sequence showing a tree which was too big to fall from the stump, but when dismantled from the top-down fits nicely into a small drop zone; saving valuable buildings, power lines, lawn fixtures from damage. One less concern the next time high winds are forecasted.

Got a little dark by the time I took this finished photo but with a good high overhead tie point I was able to scooch over half way out on this limb, hand saw the tips , then wrestle them back over my climb system and toss in between the multiple comm wires to the lawn. Now the winds can blow and the client has peace of mind.

This spruce was topped over a decade ago, and the lateral limbs that remain compete to become the dominant leader that reaches for the sky. This one produced several candidates making for a wider nontypical crown. The tree was defoliating big time this season, so clients decided it was too risky to remain in such close proximity to the cabin.

Had to Rachel strap these leaning leads for safety reasons as the included bark seams extend to knee level inside the main stem. Eventually got all the brush off with a little rigging then blocked down the main spar. No damage to nearby gazebo or shed. Tree owner was happy to have this failing maple down to a safe height.

Two factors made this job challenging 1) it was 25m tall & 2) it died last growing season.
It took a couple days but eventually a hazardous tree became a heavy duty clothesline pole, that can't strike anything when it finally rots to the ground.

Getting a high number of requests to dismantle dead conifers this year (a few deciduous as well). Lots of spruce bark beetle damage for the conifers, usually mechanical damage for the hardwoods (wind or a man-made construction damages cambium causing mortality).
