Some of our most important work happens long before installation.
For weeks, this bespoke fixture has been suspended at full scale in our warehouse, illuminated, studied, adjusted, and meticulously refined until every detail reflected the designer's original vision.
Its destination: Fort Lauderdale.

Inspired by the organic beauty of a flower in bloom, eight sculptural, scalloped petals unfold in a delicate composition of ivory detailing and finely woven cane.

At its heart, a hand-patterned geometric textile brings together warm amber, coral, teal, and sand tones, creating a rich interplay of color, texture, and light.

Hundreds of individually hand-tied tassels cascade in two layers, softening the silhouette and adding movement, depth, and a beautiful sense of craftsmanship.

Every material, proportion, and detail has been carefully considered—not simply for how the fixture looks, but for how it comes to life when illuminated.

Because exceptional bespoke lighting isn't simply manufactured. It's thoughtfully engineered, meticulously crafted, and perfected long before it reaches its destination. Link in bio.

A steakhouse is one of the hardest rooms to light well.

It has to feel intimate at the table and generous at the bar, two different moods, in one continuous space, without the transition ever announcing itself.

For Hy's Steakhouse in Toronto, VISO design-engineered and fabricated a custom canopy installation with softer shades and metallic pendants across the room. The installation includes a cluster of glass globes variations in powder coated black metal.

The choice of finish is just as important as the form itself. In a steakhouse, black metal blends seamlessly into the surrounding palette, allowing the fixture to recede while its warmth takes center stage. Guests may never consciously notice the lighting, but they experience its impact through the atmosphere it creates.

That is the power of thoughtful lighting design: sometimes its greatest impact comes from what you feel, rather than what you see.

Bespoke lighting isn't decoration applied at the end. It's how a hospitality space earns its atmosphere.

Some collaborations are a project. Others are a decade.

This month we're looking back at the work VISO has design-engineered alongside , a partnership that spans New York, Denver, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas, and Dubai.

Zou Zou's, New York. Amber resin shades, intricate hand-blown glass, hydrographic wood, and specially crafted large reflective metals, with a decorative band matched to a fabric sourced from Italy.

Host on Howard, New York. The Clayton Members Club and Hotel, Denver. Akiko's, San Francisco. Seneca Trattoria atop the InterContinental. Mara at Four Seasons Minneapolis. Nuri Steakhouse, Dallas.

Different cities, different typologies, one working method: design intent first, engineering second, and a shared refusal to let the fabrication reality flatten the idea.

The best partnerships aren't built on a single install. They're built on the third or fourth time a studio calls, already knowing what's possible. đź’Ş

Tzetzy Naydenova, President of VISO Lighting, shares what it truly takes to protect the craftsmanship behind every fixture. ✨
A dream is the starting point. It isn't the brief.
When a client brings us a vision, our first responsibility isn't simply to agree. It's to listen, understand the ambition, and explore what's possible.
Then comes the real work.
We challenge the concept against the realities of materials, engineering, installation, and budget. We ask difficult questions, explore alternatives, and sometimes have to say, "Not quite like that."
We don't want to compromise the vision. We want to protect it and execute it to perfection.

True craftsmanship requires boundaries. It demands an understanding of what can be created, how it can be executed, and whether it will stand the test of time.

Our responsibility is to transform extraordinary ideas into beautifully engineered realities, fixtures that can be fabricated, installed, and admired for years to come.

And more often than not, the result is even more remarkable than the original concept.

We challenge the dream to become something greater.
Exceptional design isn't about saying yes to everything. It's about knowing how to make the extraordinary possible.

The art is in imagining the extraordinary. The expertise is in bringing it to life

Meet Honey, a statement in glass, engineered for effortless transformation.
Lightweight borosilicate spheres cast a warm, even glow, within a refined finish.
But Honey is designed and engineered to evolve.
Choose from 11 colours and change the look, palette, and mood of the fixture simply by swapping the glass spheres, no electrician required.
Because great design shouldn’t be static.
One fixture. Eleven ways to see it.
Elegant. Adaptable. Effortlessly yours.

Start with the grain.

Slide one is about three inches of hand-blown glass. Slide four is the room it lives in.

At Fleurette in La Jolla, Studio UNLTD and lighting designer Maura Clark Studio set out to build intimacy inside a three-sided glass building, a modern, angular volume clad in a rust-coloured steel veil, with a ceiling that drops steeply as it moves inward.

VISO fabricated the Art Nouveau-inspired blown glass shades that arc over the bar tables: tulip forms, or "fleurettes," each one hand blown so no two carry exactly the same organic curve, mounted on sculptural black metal stems.
Hand blowing was the only way to get there. A mould would have given us consistency. We wanted the opposite, the slight irregularity that reads as botanical rather than manufactured.

Guess before you swipe. What were you looking at? ✨

Alignment is the whole job according to our President, Tzetzy.
A vision can pass through dozens of hands before it reaches the ceiling—design, engineering, fabrication, shipping, installation.
At every handoff, something can be lost such as the finish becomes a specification, the drawing becomes a dimension and the vision becomes a fixture.
Alignment keeps that from happening. To be aligned means everyone understands not just what is being built, but why. Because the best projects aren’t simply built correctly. They arrive exactly as they were imagined.
That’s the magic.

Across the Middle East, ambitious visions in Riyadh, Dubai, and Kuwait have challenged us to turn concepts that existed only on paper into extraordinary realities.

At Four Seasons Kuwait at Burj Alshaya, a hairline bronze chandelier became exactly that:
1,241 integral LEDs, hand-finished brass tubes, and a level of precision that demanded engineering from the very beginning.

Because the best results happen when fabrication isn’t an afterthought.

When VISO is involved from the first sketch to the final installation, the original intent stays intact through every detail, every challenge, and every decision.
You imagine it. We figure out how to build it.

A room can hold you, or it can just hold your seat.

VISO designs for the first one.

Movement, first. The way a chandelier catches light differently depending on where you're standing. The way a room shifts in feeling as the sun goes down and the sconces take over.

Emotion, second. Not just what a space looks like at six o'clock, but what it does to the people inside it. Whether they linger. Lean in a little closer in dim light. Forget to check their phone.

Ambiance, always. The mood a fixture creates long before anyone stops to notice the fixture itself.

That's the brief we give ourselves on every project: build the kind of environment people actually want to be in, and let the lighting do quiet, essential work underneath it. đź’ˇ

Inside a historic Memphis foundry, the ceiling was built to match the building's bones.

For Amelia Gene, VISO suspended 1,953 hand-blown glass crystals in silver, amber, and black on cables designed to disappear, each one mapped by hand beneath a mirrored copper canopy.

Up close, it reads as fragments. Pull back, and the room does the rest: kept dark on purpose, so the amber has somewhere to glow. ✨
