Sanding rails, running a hand down everything to check it, pickets in. The last day isn’t about building — it’s about going over every inch like you’re the one who’s going to live with it.

Day 3 of building a pool deck in East Gwillimbury 🤙

Scribe day. Every board that touches the pool wall gets marked, notched and fitted by hand — no straight cuts against a curved wall, and no gaps to hide. Slow work, and it’s the difference between a deck built near a pool and a deck built for one.

Day 2 of building a pool deck in East Gwillimbury 🤙

Stringer day. This is where the staircase gets figured out — every rise divided even, every stringer cut so the steps fan out and follow the curve of that pool wall. Get the math wrong here and you feel it in your knees on every step, every time.

Measure twice season is in full effect.

Layout day — measuring off the pool, marking boards, and getting the frame started. Everything on this build gets fitted to the curve of that pool wall, so the tape comes out before the saw does.

Screw pile installs are now available. Footings for low level decks, fences and sheds — no digging, no concrete to mix, no waiting on cure time. The pile goes in and you can build on it the same day.
