🎨 What’s Next?

I was finishing up an ornament (sneak peek of our featured project for upcoming studio after dark)… and had some paint left on my palette. Instead of wasting it, I brushed it onto a canvas—with no plan other than seeing what happened!

Now I keep looking at it and wondering… where does it go from here? 🤔

I can see a dramatic sky, a peaceful winter scene, or maybe something on the water.

What do YOU see? If this canvas were sitting in front of you, what would you add next? Feel free to go in a completely different direction! In the first comment I will put in a mockup of a few possibilities just because I don’t want to influence your decision before you decide what you see…

🎨 Sunday Art Journaling at Upcycled Colour Studio!

Come start a journal with us—or add to one you already love! This week, we’ll explore setting up an art journal and have some fun experimenting with image transfers.

📖 What should you bring?
• Your current art journal, if you have one.
• A new journal—a mixed media or watercolour journal is a great place to start.
• Or an old book to alter and turn into something uniquely yours!

You don’t need fancy supplies or any experience—just a little curiosity and a willingness to play. 💛

Sessions start at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
No registration needed—choose your start time and drop in! Seats available as space allows.

🕯️ The Creative Chaos Chronicles

Episode 2 - “I Was Only Going to Use Up a Few Samples…”

Apparently, my inability to keep things simple extends to fragrance oils. 😂

Today’s mission: work through some sample bottles and make a little room on the scent shelf.

The result? SIX blends, names with a little attitude, and me repeatedly saying, “Oh, that smells SO good!” 🤦‍♀️🤣

I’m thinking about a new studio series… Sunday Morning Creative Chaos!

A relaxed morning to play with paint, paper and layers, explore a technique or creative prompt, and make a little time for yourself—with creative company. ❤️

You don’t need to know how to draw! We’ll explore image transfers, paint, washi tape, stamps and layers, one technique at a time. The portrait in the open journal pictured here started with an image transfer!

Bring a journal you’re already working in or start your very first one. And yes—you’d get to peek inside mine!

I’m picturing 90-minute sessions at around $20 per person, with basic shared supplies included. Your journal would be separate, with a starter option available to purchase.

These are pages from my own practice over time. We’d start with approachable techniques and build from there, at your own pace. Some pages are experiments, some tell a story, and some get painted over. It’s all part of the fun!

Right now, I’m only gauging interest—nothing is booked yet.
