Leaves falling outside, velvet drawn, fire lit. Is there anything better?

Bathroom windows are the classic trade-off: open for light, or closed for privacy. You shouldn't have to choose.

A top-down/bottom-up shade gives you both. Drop the top of the shade to bring in daylight and a view of the sky, and keep the lower half covered. In this design concept it's a soft mauve cellular shade, in a fabric chosen for bathroom humidity, with a honeycomb structure that helps a cold window feel a little less chilly in winter.

It's a small change that makes a bathroom feel twice as bright.

Quick vote before your coffee gets cold: which breakfast nook would you want to sit in tomorrow morning?

Our design team styled the same breakfast nook three ways to show how much a window treatment changes the mood of a room. Swipe for a tailored mocha linen Roman shade, then a soft smoky-mauve sheer drapery, then a moody floral Roman shade in burgundy and black that turns the window into the focal point.

Nothing else changes. The table, the chairs and the light are identical, which shows how much work a window does.

Burgundy in the bedroom: brave choice or best choice? Our design team knows which side we're on.

This design concept is built around custom velvet drapery in a deep burgundy, lined with blackout so it's as practical as it is beautiful. Behind it sits a simple mauve roller shade for daytime privacy.

We're the Allure Design Team, and we want this page to feel more like walking through the rooms we dream up for clients: finished spaces, beautiful fabrics, and windows dressed the way they deserve.

This first one is a living room in burgundy, mauve and chocolate brown. The custom mauve linen drapery is hung close to the ceiling and well past the frame, a simple choice that makes ordinary windows feel grand.
