Where architectural detailing meets playful contrast. A custom wood-panelled feature wall integrates the television, while a discreet door disappears into the surrounding white panelling. I have been so fortunate to work with many wonderful trades and contractors over the years, but this loss has hit me incredibly hard.

I met Darren from Newcastle Homes & Renovations in 2010, and from the beginning, we just clicked. What started as a great working relationship grew over more than 15 years into a friendship that I valued so much.

Darren was incredibly reliable, calm and professional, but what stood out most was his huge heart. He saw the good in people and was always willing to give someone a chance. He was simply one of those people you could count on and genuinely enjoyed being around.

I can’t believe I don’t have a site photo of Darren. I guess we were always too busy talking and working. I was telling my kids how I will always remember the way every phone call and voicemail started: “Oh hi Stacy, it’s Darren at Newcastle…” I can still hear his voice saying it.

I’m so proud of the projects we worked on together and everything we accomplished over the years. It’s incredibly difficult to think that I won’t have the opportunity to work alongside him again, but I feel so fortunate for all those years—not only working together, but getting to know such a genuinely wonderful person.

Darren will be missed so much. ❤️
