How do you renovate a room that doesn’t exist?

Plot twist: This room didn’t exist before.

No pantry to renovate. No existing space to spruce up. Just a vision of what could be.

And now? A beautiful butler’s pantry with gorgeous finishes, clever storage and a whole lot of practicality tucked away behind the kitchen.

Because sometimes the best renovation isn’t about improving the space you’ve got. It’s about creating the space you never knew your home could have. 🙌

Now for the big question…

Is a butler’s pantry a must-have in your dream kitchen, or would you rather put those extra square metres somewhere else?

We’re curious! 👇

Same space. Three stages. A whole new kitchen.

From the before, to the design, to the finished space—see how the vision came to life.

It’s why we love helping you visualise your renovation before the tools come out. See the possibilities, feel confident in your choices, then watch it all come together. 🤍

What would you change about your home?

Just finished. Kudos to caiban_electrical for installing the heated towel racks and electrical package, high fives to MJC Plumbing Services and the chippies for pulling this together, and special mention to Cam fordtiles for the outstanding finish in herringbone for the feature wall. Honourable mention to Fienza - Bathroom | Kitchen | Laundry for their beautiful urban brass vintage range 👌🏽🙌🏻💦

From back deck to bathroom… we were invited back for round two! 🥹

This bathroom might be mini mini, but the before and after is a big change. This client hired us to enclose their back deck. We had not even finished the project before we got hired to update their bathroom. With a tight budget, and tight space, it was important to use what we had wisely. Instead of keeping the shower in its original location, we moved it to the other corner of the space to maximise on light and avoid having the shower screen cut the window in half. We even had a vanity sitting in the shed that was just right for the space, so our client got it for free. No more spare vanities, but if you play your cards right…. Let’s talk!

We love it when one project leads to another. 💛

A little ensuite with a pretty big transformation

We took this one from dated and cramped to fresh, bright and functional — and received this beautiful feedback from our client.

There was also a post-renovation “emergency” when the tenant called to report that the brand-new vanity was blocked…

Turns out the plumbing was perfectly fine.

The pop-up waste was just… popped down. 😂

One quick lesson in push it once to close, push it again to open and crisis officially averted.

The pretty part gets all the attention.
But this is where a good renovation actually starts. 👆

Prep. Prime. Frame. Fix. Repeat.

It’s not exactly the bit that makes it onto the Pinterest board… but it’s the bit that makes everything that comes after it work.

Good renovations are built in the details you eventually never see.

There’s something pretty special about working with clients who instantly feel like your kind of people 🤍

Carol trusted us with her renovation journey, and from day one it felt more like collaborating with friends than simply completing a project.

At DBC, we know renovations aren’t just about tiles, tapware and trades — they’re about creating homes that feel better to live in every single day. Hearing feedback like this reminds us why we care so much about the process, communication and little details along the way.

Thank you again Carol for the beautiful review, your trust, and for being an absolute pleasure to work with ✨

From SketchUp dreams… to controlled chaos…

This one’s not your average reno. Remember our Day 1 reel a couple weeks back?
What started as a full-house concept on the iPad is now very much a real-life “there’s no turning back now” situation.

✔️ Walls down
✔️ Demo dust everywhere
✔️ Timber going up
✔️ Power points and lighting cables galore
✔️ Our brains already 14 steps ahead imagining the finished spaces

The fun part about renovations like this?
Most people only see the mess… we see the lighting, the flow, the hidden storage, the little luxury details and the way this home is about to completely change how our clients live.

Right now it’s giving “construction site chic” — but trust us, this one’s going to be something special, it is the life dream coming true for our beloved clients.

Stay tuned, friends. This is only the beginning.
